Thank you for reading this post on Tellyreviews.com, don’t forget to share your favorite content.

International Women’s Day is an occasion dedicated to every woman across the globe. It is also a celebration of showering respect, appreciation, and love towards women. Let us hope that the gender bias gets eradicated paving the way for Gender Equality and more opportunities for women empowerment. For this year, the UN Theme on International Women’s Day – Empowering Women, Empowering Humanity: Picture it!, while the general Theme is – Make It Happen. TellyReviews salutes women and wish they succeed in every endeavor, get equal rights, respect, and love.

We also take this opportunity to briefly discuss on the developments on Indian Telly. In the current lot, we have some specific shows such as Bindass’ Halla Bol 1 & 2, Zindagi Wins; Channel V’s Heroes – The Fightback file & Sadda Haq; Star Plus’s – Airlines; Everest; Yeh Hai MohabbateinNisha Aur Uske Cousins; Diya Aur Baati Hum; Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 2; Ek Hasina Thi and Satyamev Jayate; Colors TV’s – Udaan, Balika VadhuCode Red; Life OK – Ajeeb Dastaan Hain Yeh, Dream Girl; and Zee TV’s – Doli Armaanon KiHello Pratibha, and Service Wali Bahu that characterize women empowerment and also highlight aspirations, determination of women in their story. We also want to add some additional shows – Jodha Akbar, Maharana Pratap, Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, Yaariaan, and Sasural Simar Ka though their stories are not directly related to women empowerment. The lead women protagonists in those shows have cast a positive and big impact in both young and old TV viewers, enthusiasts and community at large.

To name few characters from the shows list – Aastha Agnihotri, Anjali Singh Rawat, Ananya Rawat, Sandhya Rathi, Ajabde, Jodha, Durga Thakur, Sanyukta, Urmi, Nisha and Nandini. Additionally, weekend shows presenting woman as a host is also commendable, one good example is Surbhi Jyoti for Zing TV’s love episodic Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya. We are thankful to the makers, channels and the actors/stars for bringing forward such strong characters which will be remembered even in the times to come. Also, initiatives of spreading awareness of Gender Equality – Star Plus’s Chal, Kar Pehel and Bindass TV’s Halla Bol episodes with the core message Ladkiyan Kam Nahi [Girls are not lesser than anyone – Equality] in their stories are to be appreciated.

Additionally, a special mention and much respect to the women on Khatron Ke Khiladi 6- Asha Negi, Riddhi Dogra, Rashami Desai, Sagarika Ghatge, Sana Khan, Natalia Kaur and Archana Vijaya.  We believe all the actresses and stars are Women Achievers and no less since their work speaks for itself. But, nevertheless we just set-up a Poll so that you can exercise and vote to choose the Youth Icon [Female] character on Indian Telly, and even can select multiple choices.

Finally, we wish the best and Happy Women’s Day to all the TV actresses/women writers who are currently working in TV shows, and the ones who ended their work in recent past.  We will close the poll by tomorrow 9th March 2015 @ 12 Midnight IST.
