Anupama Malti’s confession Past secrets unveils. Anuj informs Anupama that the matter at hand needs to be resolved immediately and declares that it is now settled. Anupama acknowledges his perspective and requests him to listen to her as well. She reassures Anuj that she understands his point of view, but also urges him to consider the possibility that she may be mistaken. Anupama pleads for an opportunity to speak and reminds him that he was right in saying that no one else can truly comprehend their situation. However, she reminds him that if their child is suffering, then as a mother, she will suffer too. If their child is scared, then naturally, she will be fearful on their behalf as well.
Anupama emphasizes that she is not trying to interfere in their relationship, but rather stresses the importance of effective communication in any bond. She requests Anuj to allow her a chance to express herself. Anuj turns to Anupama and reminds her that she knows he cannot refuse her. Anuj addresses Malti and questions what circumstances led her to leave him at the orphanage despite being his birth mother. He asks her why she abandoned him. Malti humbly admits, that it was not a matter of helplessness but of stubbornness, arrogance, dreams, and an obsession to achieve something. Malti Devi clarifies that she was not helpless, but driven by a strong determination to make something of herself. Vanraj urges her to speak the truth.
Malti explains to Anuj that her story is similar to many other women’s. Like them, she had dreams but no opportunity to make them a reality. Despite being born in a small house, she dared to dream big and worked tirelessly towards her goals. However, Malti laments that her family did not appreciate her competence and instead chose to marry her off to a man who worked as a shop clerk. While he was a good man, he did not share or encourage her aspirations. Despite their efforts, Malti could not let go of her dreams and ambitions. She asserts that if a man pursues his dreams, he is deemed ambitious and passionate.
In contrast, if a woman does the same, she is often criticized as being wrong, selfish, and a disgrace to womanhood. She informs them that she became pregnant and while everyone else was overjoyed, she was not. During that time, she received a significant opportunity that presented her with two options: maternal instincts or personal aspirations. Ultimately, she chose to prioritize being a mother, hoping that the joy of a son’s arrival would overshadow any disappointment from unfulfilled dreams. However, she adds that after Anuj was born, another major opportunity arose for her to showcase her talents internationally, and she accepted it. He adds that she had paid a big price for pursuing her dreams. She mentions that she left Anuj at the Ashram before departing for America. Anuj is disheartened.
