1 shattering moment Anupama Anuj trashes the truth. Anuj reiterates that Malti has always had a strong desire to pursue her dreams, and he fully supports her. He acknowledges that when his Anu wanted to go to America, he encouraged her despite the lack of support from Malti’s husband and family. He expresses sorrow over the fact that societal expectations prevented her from chasing her aspirations. He states that it is a harsh reality that to achieve success, sacrifices must be made. Unfortunately for him, this meant living life as an orphan. However, he firmly believes that being a working woman does not mean one cannot be a good mother, citing examples such as Jhansi ki Rani and hardworking village women who juggle parenthood with their careers.

Anuj then addresses Malti directly, stating that although she may have made a mistake due to circumstances at the time, she has had many years since then to rectify it and yet hasn’t once checked on the child she left behind at the orphanage. He compares her behavior with Maya’s, who also abandoned her child but eventually returned after six years to make amends. Anupama affirms Anuj’s viewpoint, stating that anyone who hears it will see that she is wrong. She reminds him of his belief that women should chase their dreams and emphasizes the mistake of abandoning a child for that dream. Anuj shares an emotional memory of waiting at the orphanage window for his parents to come, questioning if Malti ever missed him even once in the forty years that passed.

Malti expresses her deep yearning for Anuj but acknowledges that she couldn’t meet or say anything to him. Anuj agrees and adds that he has no words to say to her either. He reveals how she rejected him as her son before, and now he refuses to accept her as his mother, demanding her to leave. He sternly instructs her not to call him a son. He turns to Anupama and assures her of not going against her wishes but makes it clear that he will not stay if Malti remains there.

Amid this intense confrontation, Malti nearly faints. Anupama worries for Malti. Barkha expresses disbelief at the selfishness of some mothers. She questions Malti where her love was when he was longing for it in an orphanage. Barkha firmly believes that forgiveness will not be granted. Anupama urges Barkha to stop, while Ankush supports Anuj’s right to speak his mind. Kavya comforts Anupama and encourages her not to worry. Anu hugs Anuj, who reciprocates tearfully. She assures him that it’s okay to cry or express anger, as she did when Maya visited. Anuj breaks down.
