Today in Kundali Bhagya written update, Shanaya confronts Shukwinder, claiming that daughters are better than sons because sons abandon their parents, while daughters remain loyal. She points out that parents spend heavily on a daughter’s marriage, unlike for sons. Shukwinder dismisses the topic, arguing that Shanaya can’t win the debate. Shanaya sarcastically asks who Shukwinder wants to win and expresses her despair, saying she wants to die.
Trying to explain herself, Shukwinder recalls her desire for a grandson, revealing that she was convinced Daljeet would give birth to a boy. She shares how she cared for Daljeet during her pregnancy, even preparing sweets like *kheer* in anticipation. Shanaya retorts that it was Daljeet who ate the *kheer*, not her, to which Shukwinder counters that Shanaya, being in Daljeet’s womb, ate it too. Shanaya accuses Shukwinder of not carrying her when she was born, and Shukwinder admits she was disappointed at not having a grandson. However, she insists she has always loved Shanaya deeply, even more than Palki, and treated her like an angel despite her initial shock.
Shanaya dismisses Shukwinder’s sentiments, saying she doesn’t remember the love Shukwinder claims to have given her. Shukwinder explains that Shanaya was too young to remember and reassures her of the special treatment she received as the family’s youngest member. She pleads with Shanaya to trust her. Shukwinder further adds that she was happy when she learned of Shanaya’s impending marriage to Shaurya, believing Shanaya would support them in their old age. She shifts focus to her worries about her son, expressing hope that Shanaya would take care of him. Shanaya responds that daughters care for their parents after marriage too, to which Shukwinder agrees.
As Shukwinder suggests they leave, Shanaya brings up her suicidal thoughts, reminding Shukwinder why she had come there in the first place. Shanaya feels overlooked, believing her family prioritizes Palki over her. She claims she has always been invisible and feels like she’s “number two” in everyone’s eyes. Shukwinder denies this, promising to give Shanaya the most love. Shanaya points out that even her future in-laws prefer Palki over her, and this constant comparison has made her feel like a loser.
In response, Shukwinder vows to help Shanaya achieve everything she desires. When Shanaya skeptically asks how, Shukwinder reassures her that she will come up with a way to change things and support her.
