Anupama expresses her frustration, revealing that when Pakhi was a child, she would come and hug her when she cried. She questions why there has been no such show of affection in recent times. Anuj attempts to console her but knows his words alone cannot be enough. Romil threatens Adhik by saying he will ensure he will get taken into custody for the way he treated Pakhi. Anger rises within Vanraj when he comes across Adhik and grabs his collar demanding what he did to his daughter before commanding him to answer.
Barkha insists her brother is innocent and requests Vanraj to leave him be. She adds that the misunderstanding has arisen as their girl had gone there, and it’s not their fault if the intended meeting didn’t take place. Samar declares it must have been an intentional plan of Adhik and Barkha. Adhik swears that Pakhi’s departure may have been due to her being displeased with Anupama. He tells that Pakhi cautioned her to not meddle in their marital life. Just then, the Inspector arrives and says Adhik is being arrested as they suspect his involvement in Pakhi having gone missing. Adhik adamantly refuses to go with them. Barkha inquires who filed the complaint.
Anupama arrives with Anuj, announcing that she had already complained. Despite her asking, Adhik does not reveal the whereabouts of her daughter. Barkha firmly comments on how sending his son-in-law to prison without any evidence seemed inappropriate as he is well-educated and not a hoodlum. Anupama counters by pointing out that even educated people sometimes resort to violence against their wives. Meanwhile, Barkha argues that Adhik was aware of the fact that when something happens to Pakhi, the husband will be the prime suspect. She continues by persuading Anupama to withdraw the complaint, yet is unsuccessful as Anupama remains determined to locate Pakhi.

Adhik is arrested, prompting Anupama to remember Pakhi’s words. She admits her error in not notifying the police earlier and admits being swayed into silence by her daughter. Everyone looks on as she expresses regret for making such a mistake, causing her child to disappear. The emotion overwhelms her, as Anuj catches her before she faints. Anupama regains consciousness and murmurs Pakhi’s name. Anuj offers her a glass of water saying that the latter will soon be back. Surprised, Anupama asks where had her daughter gone and why. Vanraj blames her for intervening in the matter between Adhik and Pakhi afterward, despite being warned. Anuj speaks up saying this is neither the time to scold nor search Pakhi but to take care of Anupama instead.
Vanraj says if she didn’t interfere then Pakhi wouldn’t have taken such a step. The latter inquires what he means by pushing her and whether it was wrong to teach her children to speak out against injustice instead of staying quiet and suffering in silence, suffocated by oppression. Vanraj placates saying parents can make mistakes too. Anupama enquires if Vanraj had asked why Adhik was saying that Pakhi had left home due to her, and reminds a past incident. She adds that though it was good of him to plan on slapping Adhik, it wasn’t right for him to show his face to her.
Vanraj accuses Anupama of having meddled too much. Anupama expresses her outrage that Adhik is emotionally blackmailing Pakhi and that she doesn’t realize he doesn’t love her. She insists any wrongdoings are not her fault, pointing out she’s Pakhi’s mother so why would she trouble her and force her out? Anuj and Samar are attempting to console her as she maintains she never considered anything bad for Pakhi and rejects the accusations being made against her; claiming to be a good mother. Soon, the police inform them about the possibility of Pakhi’s accident, which shatters Anupama and Vanraj.
