1 impossible task Anupama to solve Anuj’s conflict. Malti acknowledges her mistake and admits that while it was not a mistake to pursue her dreams, it was a grave error to abandon her son and never reconcile with him. She confesses that she has been aware of this for some time now, but lacked the courage to face it and did not want to confront her son. She attributes her actions to her pride, which caused her to reject her maternal instincts. However, she can no longer bear the weight of this realization and considers it the biggest mistake of her life. Tearfully, she implores Anupama to allow her to stay and promises to try and make amends with her son. She fears his rejection but is determined to win him over.
Anupama is taken aback by this revelation and is torn between Malti’s plea and Anuj’s decision. Anupama shares that Malti is Anuj’s mother, and wonders how to approach the situation of asking her to leave. Vanraj reminds the family that Anuj has made it clear he will not stay if Malti remains here. Faced with this dilemma, Anupama seeks advice. Leela interjects, reminding them of past troubles and questioning their decision to take on this responsibility without consulting the rest of the family. Vanraj worries about upsetting Anuj if he finds out about their actions. Leela reprimands him for acting impulsively as the eldest member of the household responsible for everyone’s well-being.
Hasmukh trusts that Anupama will find a place for Malti to stay within the next few days. Vanraj questions why Anupama feels the need to be virtuous because of someone else’s actions. Hasmukh expresses his belief that women like Anupama keep this world running smoothly. As Anupama enters the room, Anuj expresses his shattered state and requests to be left alone for a while. She inquires if she can stay there, but he insists on being alone today. She exits and turns to prayer, asking for Kanha ji to give strength to her partner. Soon after, Anuj summons her back into the room and invites her to sit with him. Anupama takes a seat beside him.

Anupama reassures him that she had no idea he would be in so much pain, and had only wanted to bring him joy, not pain. Anuj explains that it was not her fault; he was angry with Malti and that’s why he told her to leave. He wonders how a little boy of eight could forgive Malti, who had been waiting for his mother. He admits that he holds no feelings or relationship for her and does not hold a grudge against her, but rather hates her. Finally, he reveals that he has found the answer to his question today – why his parents left him in the orphanage. He confesses that whenever there was a knock on the ashram door, he used to run outside hoping it would be his parents coming to take him home.
He states that at the time he felt unwanted and now, ironically, he doesn’t want her anymore. He tells Anupama that his decision no longer matters. He expresses that my decision is insignificant and acknowledges that I have recognized the unsuitability of using the word “mother” for her, leading to my inability to forgive myself. Overcome with emotion, he embraces her tightly. He declares his feelings of resentment towards her and questions why she had to show up here. Anupama urges him not to weep.
