YRKKH 19th August 2024 Written Update Abhira’s decision. In Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Ruhi meets Abhira and Anupama. She insults Abhira for always trying to bond with Manish. Abhira asks her to be careful when she talks. Ruhi asks her to think about changing her name. Abhira and Ruhi’s argument makes Anupama think that they are sisters. Abhira clears that Ruhi isn’t her sister. She doesn’t want to change her name. Anupama cheers up Abhira by asking her to have the special kachori. Anupama asks Abhira to share the matter. She senses that something is bothering Abhira and vanishing her joy. She says that she is a mother and knows that Abhira has a burden on her heart. Abhira cries and hugs her. Anupama asks her to tell her the problem.
Abhira tells her that Kaveri wants to change her name so that her nature changes and she adjusts to the family well. She adds that Kaveri expects her to make this sacrifice if she loves Armaan. She doesn’t want to leave her name, Abhira, which is actually the combination of her parents’ name. She says that life always tests girls. She adds that she doesn’t want to prove her love for Armaan. Anupama tells Abhira that a person’s name and identity matter a lot. She asks Abhira not to change her name. Ruhi overhears them. She rushes to tell Kaveri about it. Leela tells Vanraj that Anupama is supporting Abhira against changing her name.
Anupama gets a special dish for Kaveri. She says that it’s Ghewar. Kaveri calls it a Kachori. Anupama tries to give her some sense. She says that Kaveri can’t change Abhira’s name. She asks her to consider Abhira’s feelings. She says that Abhira’s name is beautiful and Kaveri shouldn’t force her to change it. Armaan learns the matter and appears shocked. Anupama tells Kaveri that a person’s identity is important. She explains to Kaveri that qualities don’t come by name but by deeds and personality. She says that Abhira will stay the same even if she changes her name. She asks Kaveri to respect Abhira’s name.
Armaan asks Kaveri if she really asked Abhira to change her name. Kaveri reacts angrily. She asks Anupama how dare she interfere in their personal matter. Anupama lectures her. She asks her not to get so stern. Kaveri shouts at her. Abhira tells Kaveri that she just got her name from her parents. Anupama reasons her opinion. Abhira too takes a stand for herself. She says that Kaveri doesn’t call her by her name. Armaan says that he respects Abhira and loves her. He adds that he loves everything about Abhira, and his love is true. He doesn’t want Abhira to lose her name. Ruhi gets worried when Armaan tells her that he will also change his name if Kaveri forces Abhira.
Anupama is glad to see their love. Kaveri rebukes Anupama for spreading poison instead of sweetness. Anupama asks Kaveri to stop making any insulting remarks about her. She says that she can fight anyone for her respect. Abhira defends Anupama in front of Kaveri. Kaveri criticizes Anupama who has ruined two lives and families. She asks Anupama if she knows anything about marriage. She says that she can’t take any lecture on marriage from Anupama. Anupama admits that she had a failed marriage with Vanraj, but she loves Anuj and she will keep her marriage with him till her death.
She reveals about Vanraj’s affair. She says that she isn’t like Vanraj to cheat on a partner. Abhira tells Kaveri that Anupama has taken much burden on her, but she is also a person who has her own emotions. Abhira decides to not change her name. She says that the Poddar family is important to her, but even her self-respect and name are important. She wants everyone to pay her the respect. Anupama and Abhira refuse to compromise on their self-esteem. Armaan supports Abhira. Anupama apologizes to Kaveri for spoiling her mood.
Armaan says that he is grateful to Anupama for making the function a hit. The family celebrates the festive. Anupama asks Abhira and Ruhi to tie the Rakhi to each other. Manish gets glad to see them bonding. Anupama imagines Anuj and gets a moment to rejoice, by forgetting the problems. Abhira finds Kaveri upset and turns tensed.
