Bulbul suggests that Ganga could become more famous by discussing her mother online, but Ganga becomes upset, especially since Bulbul is soon to be married and will leave her. Bulbul is also hurt that Ganga didn’t attend her haldi ceremony, but Ganga explains that she’s been busy with work. Bulbul, however, criticizes Ganga’s mother for leaving her in what she calls “a prison.” Ganga defends her mother, saying she only wants what’s best for her.
Their conversation is interrupted when a woman, who is Ganga’s mother, enters the house with a boy and a girl. The woman complains about her husband being useless. Ganga asks Bulbul to leave, and Bulbul, feeling unwelcome, decides to stay with her mother instead. Before leaving, Bulbul asks Ganga what kind of husband she desires, and Ganga replies that she wants a good man who respects and teaches her good things. As Bulbul leaves to avoid encountering Ganga’s mother, Ganga’s mother mentions that she spent a lot at the parlor so that Ritu, presumably Ganga’s sister, will look beautiful when two boys come to see her.
Ganga helps her mother by picking up her slippers and confirming that she’s prepared the food. Suddenly, Ganga’s mother receives a call informing her that one of the boys has canceled, making her angry. She instructs Ritu to impress the remaining boy by helping in the kitchen, while Ganga is ordered to stay there until the boy’s family leaves. When the boy’s family arrives, Ganga’s mother, Lalita, and her husband warmly welcome them. Lalita praises Ritu as a hardworking girl who assists in the family’s Litti Choka business. When Ritu asks Ganga for help serving the dishes, she rudely tells Ganga not to touch her with dirty hands. In the process, Ganga accidentally spills water on Ritu, causing her false eyelashes to fall off.
As Ritu serves snacks, the boy notices her missing eyelash and points it out, making Ritu panic and ask her mother about the situation. Lalita tries to distract everyone by coughing. Meanwhile, Ganga’s father asks her to bring water, and when she does, the boy shifts his attention to Ganga, expressing his desire to marry her instead of Ritu. Lalita reluctantly agrees to the proposal but makes Ganga serve sweets to the guests using a spoon. When Ganga doesn’t understand what a spoon is, Lalita embarrasses her by highlighting her illiteracy, leading the boy’s mother to reject both Ganga and Ritu.
Lalita, upset, asks the boy’s family to leave, unable to bear any criticism of her daughters. After they leave, Ritu blames Ganga for ruining her marriage prospects, and Lalita accuses Ganga of causing embarrassment and messing up everything in the kitchen. As tensions rise, Lalita slips and falls, blaming Ganga for not helping her. Ganga, feeling guilty, prays to Bholenath, lamenting that she has disappointed her mother and ruined her sister’s potential marriage. She wonders when things will ever improve. Just then, two new boys enter the scene, hinting at a new twist in the story.
