Anupama 30th January 2025 Written Update Anupama’s reply. Vasundara kicks off the episode with a classic desi parent guilt trip, asking Rahi why she won’t marry Prem when she supposedly loves him. Rahi, clearly the only sensible person here, explains that she’s focused on building her career and isn’t mentally ready for marriage. (Finally, a character with some ambition!) Khyati pushes further, and Rahi admits she wants to marry Prem someday but needs to understand him better first. Fair enough, but desi families don’t know the meaning of “patience.”
Prem, the unlikely voice of reason, says he doesn’t want to marry either. Rahi asks Vasundara for more time, but Vasundara responds like it’s the end of civilization.
Enter Anupama, the eternal peacekeeper, who apologizes on Rahi’s behalf. Vasundara isn’t having it and starts ranting about today’s girls wanting to compete with men, blaming that for broken marriages. (Because obviously, women having careers is the root of all evil, right?) She drags Prathna into it, implying that her “obedient” life should be the gold standard.
Anupama, in true feminist form, defends Rahi, arguing that girls need to be independent because life is unpredictable. Vasundara scoffs, claiming the Kotharis don’t need to work. (Oh sure, because family fortunes never fade, right?)
Parag, meanwhile, accuses Prem of being a sellout for working with the Shahs, sparking an unnecessary argument. Anupama steps in, defending both Prem and Rahi’s career choices. Vasundara, ever the conservative, wonders what will happen if Prem and Rahi gasp do something without marriage. (Cue the collective clutching of pearls.)
Anupama tries to reassure Vasundara by highlighting their upbringing, but Vasundara snaps back, reminding everyone of Rahi’s past runaways and Pakhi and Paritosh’s runaway marriage. She launches into a tirade about divorce, prompting Anupama to share her story with Vanraj.
Vasundara, channeling peak judgmental energy, accuses Anupama of being a failed mother and blames her for potentially ruining Rahi’s future marriage. (Talk about crossing the line!) Anupama stands there, understandably shocked, probably wondering why she even tries with these people.
As if things weren’t messy enough, Parag demands Vasundara choose between him and Prem. Vasundara, naturally overwhelmed, falls sick. (Classic drama move.) Prem visits Vasundara, who uses her health card to guilt-trip Rahi and Prem into marriage. She even ropes Anupama into convincing them. Because nothing says “romance” like a forced hospital-bed proposal.
This episode served up a piping hot platter of family drama, outdated ideologies, and some much-needed feminist lectures from Anupama. Vasundara, however, remains firmly stuck in the last century. Somebody hand her a copy of Lean In!
