Anupama 16th February 2025 Written Update. Today in Anupama written update, the episode kicks off with Vasundara’s never-ending interference in every little aspect of the wedding. Parag expresses concern that Anupama won’t be able to manage the catering, and Vasundara immediately jumps into her usual contradiction mode. First, she declares that no one can match Anupama’s taste in food, as if she’s the only chef in the entire world. But in the very next breath, she casually says they can just book from a five-star hotel if needed. So, is Anupama’s food irreplaceable, or are we just throwing money at a problem like always, Vasundara? Make up your mind!
Meanwhile, Parag insists that Anupama will pour her heart into the catering because it’s for her daughter’s wedding. Well, of course, she will! Have you all forgotten that Anupama practically runs on over-the-top emotional sacrifices? At this point, she could cook for the entire city and still make time to shed a few tears over past trauma.
The family receives a call confirming the wedding date, and surprise, surprise—it falls on Anupama’s birthday! Hasmuk, ever the wise old man, turns this into a poetic moment, saying that just as Anupama’s life began on that day, it will also mark the beginning of Rahi’s new life. While that’s a nice sentiment, does anyone even care that it’s Anupama’s birthday, or are we just going to steamroll over it with more wedding chaos? Ansh, the only sensible one, at least acknowledges it, saying they’ll celebrate Anupama’s birthday after Rahi’s departure. Thank you, Ansh, for remembering that Anupama is still a human being and not just the family’s unpaid event planner.
Elsewhere, Mahi is still daydreaming about Prem and Rahi, but Pari quickly warns her to back off. It’s nice that at least one person in this family understands boundaries. Speaking of boundaries, Leela and Hasmuk decide to contribute money for the wedding. Anupama, being her usual self-sacrificing character, refuses to take it. But Leela, as stubborn as ever, insists that Anupama must accept the money because she will need help. It’s funny how Leela picks and chooses when Anupama deserves support. One moment, she’s treating her like an outsider, and the next, she’s acting like a caring elder. Consistency is clearly not her strong suit.
Now comes the big wedding card reveal. Anupama, being her artsy self, decides to make a handmade card, but Vasundara is already ten steps ahead. She unveils the official wedding card, and while Anupama praises the design, she notices one huge problem—Rahi’s name is printed incorrectly. And here comes Vasundara with yet another outdated, illogical tradition! She casually announces that Rahi’s name will be changed to Suman after marriage. Because, of course, a woman’s identity is nothing but a replaceable label in Vasundara’s eyes.
Anupama immediately stands up against this nonsense, declaring that Vasundara has no right to erase Rahi’s identity. But Vasundara, in her typical stubborn fashion, insists that it’s part of their culture. Rahi, showing some rare backbone, refuses to accept this forced change. Prem, on the other hand, continues to be as useless as ever, just standing there like a decorative plant. This is your future wife, dude! Maybe say something instead of letting your grandmother dictate your entire relationship?
Meanwhile, Parag goes ring shopping for Prem’s engagement. Khyati, being the only one with an ounce of logic, suggests a simple ring because that’s what Prem likes. Prem agrees, but Vasundara—because she must control everything—insists on buying an expensive diamond ring. So now we’re just completely ignoring what the groom wants because Vasundara’s personal taste matters more? If Vasundara is this controlling before the wedding, imagine how suffocating she’ll be after!
Back at the Shah house, Hasmuk and Leela are shocked to see their names on Rahi’s wedding card. Leela has a rare moment of realization—she never truly loved Anupama or Rahi, yet they are still giving her the respect she never earned. Will this moment lead to any actual change in Leela’s behavior? Probably not. She’ll go right back to her manipulative ways in the next episode.
As if the episode wasn’t chaotic enough, another bombshell drops when Parag sees Gayatri’s name on the wedding invitation. Vasundara nonchalantly states that Khyati demanded it, as if that explains everything. Meanwhile, Mahi is still lost in her thoughts about Prem, and Pari warns her again to stay away. Let’s see how long that warning actually works.
To top it all off, Anupama and Rahi suggest sending e-invites for the wedding, which makes perfect sense in today’s digital age. But Vasundara, being stuck in the past, gets offended. Because how dare they not waste money on printing hundreds of unnecessary cards, right? This woman will fight over anything.
Precap: The Shahs welcome the Kotharis. Rahi sends a letter to Prem, but Parag intercepts it. Well, that’s definitely going to cause drama.
Best Dialogue:
Anupama (to Vasundara): “A wedding is about joining two lives, not erasing one. A name is not just a word; it carries identity, emotions, and history. You don’t get to rewrite someone’s existence.”
Episode Rating: 3/5
This episode was a rollercoaster of emotions—some heartfelt moments, some unnecessary drama, and a whole lot of Vasundara being Vasundara. Anupama standing up against the name change was the highlight, but Prem’s silence was frustrating. The family’s selective support for Anupama continues to be a problem, and Vasundara’s never-ending interference makes you wonder how anyone puts up with her. The episode had solid conflicts, but the repetitive arguments dragged it down.
