Kumkum Bhagya 18th February 2025 Written Update. Today in Kumkum Bhagya written update, the episode begins with a 20-year leap, shifting the story to Ahmedabad. Kishan is seen performing aarti to Lord Krishna. Meanwhile, Prathna visits the college to check the exam results. At home, Dadi asks Kishan about Prathna’s whereabouts. Kishan informs her that Prathna has gone to check the results. After checking the results, Prathna leaves.
Gayatri calls Prathna, asking where she is and saying that she is hungry. Prathna assures her that she is on her way home and will cook food for her right away. Meanwhile, Dadi gives prasad to Smita. Harsha and Keertan take prasad from Dadi and ask her why everyone in the house has been silent since morning. Dadi explains that today is Akshaya Tritiya, and on this day, all the married couples in the house remain silent until the pooja is completed.
Just then, Dadi notices Sejal and Arjun fighting over a phone and asks them to stop. They immediately comply. Dadi then distributes prasad to Kranthi and Tevan, followed by Hetan Kumar.
Later, the entire Thakur family gathers for breakfast. Sneha asks Smita what is available for her since she is on a diet. Smita uses hand signals to indicate that there is dry fruit juice for her. Sneha doesn’t understand, but Dadi explains. Meanwhile, the younger members of the Thakur family joke at the dining table. Smita signals them to stop and asks everyone to focus on their meal. Harsha and the others think that only Ronak can joke with Smita.
Smita receives a phone call, but Sneha picks it up and steps aside to order an eggless cake. Dadi overhears the conversation and assumes the cake is for her birthday, believing her family is planning a surprise for her. Prathna reaches home and shows the exam results to Gayatri. Gayatri excitedly claims that she has passed and asks Prathna to make a Sheru cake for her. Prathna agrees.
Prathna prepares the Sheru cake and writes “Happy Failure” on it, just as Gayatri requested. Seema arrives home and, noticing the cake, asks Prathna what she is doing. When she reads the message on the cake, she questions Prathna, accusing her of enjoying Gayatri’s failure.
Prathna reminds Seema that she doesn’t understand English and explains that Gayatri had asked for the cake herself. However, Seema criticizes Prathna and then tells Gayatri to go inside. Kishan later questions Seema about why she lashed out at Prathna, reminding her that Prathna has only studied until the 7th grade.
Later, Prathna confronts Gayatri, questioning why she is celebrating despite failing. Gayatri reveals that she intentionally failed the exams because, if she had passed, Seema would have arranged her marriage, which she does not want. Prathna reprimands Gayatri, saying that by failing deliberately, she has let down the entire family. She scolds her for being irresponsible. Feeling guilty, Gayatri apologizes and promises not to do it again.
Prathna then approaches Dadi and wishes her a happy birthday. Dadi asks her to keep her voice down, saying that her family is planning a surprise for her. Prathna agrees and then asks what Dadi is doing. Dadi replies that she is writing a letter to Ronak. Meanwhile, Ronak is shown riding a bike.
Kumkum Bhagya 18th February 2025 Episode: Insights & Review:
- The 20-year leap brings a fresh setting but fails to bring fresh logic. A college student deliberately failing an exam just to avoid marriage? Classic soap opera logic.
- Dadi assuming a cake order is a surprise for her birthday is peak main character syndrome.
- The silence vow for Akshaya Tritiya might be the best idea ever. Imagine if all the dramatic characters stayed mute for an entire episode!
- The cake controversy is hilarious. “Happy Failure” should be the tagline for half the serials out there.
- Seema’s overreaction is classic saas-bahu drama – because why let logic get in the way of a good scolding?
- Ronak’s dramatic entry on a bike is the staple of every long-lost hero. Will he have amnesia too, or just a dark past?
Best Dialogue: Prathna (to Gayatri): “You failed on purpose? Now that’s a new way to disappoint an entire family at once.”
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5) – A decent start post-leap, but the usual melodrama and exaggerated misunderstandings keep it from shining. The silent vow was the best part – wish it applied to the writers too!
