Anupama 4th March 2025 Written Update. In today’s episode of Anupama, the Shah family, in their eternal state of chaos, decides to throw a surprise wedding plan at Rahi. Naturally, Rahi, like any sane person, is caught off guard and questions Anupama about this sudden development. But Anupama, in classic style, shuts down any logical inquiry and insists that Rahi should simply accept her fate and start celebrating. Rahi, still trying to process whether this is reality or some over-the-top dream sequence, hesitantly follows along. Meanwhile, Anupama takes a moment to bask in the satisfaction that with Rahi’s wedding, Ansh will finally reclaim his lost room. Because, of course, that’s the biggest win here.
As if the atmosphere wasn’t chaotic enough, Ansh tumbles down from the decorations, providing a moment of unnecessary tension. Anupama stands stunned—whether at Ansh’s fall or at the general absurdity of the situation remains unclear.
On the other side, Prem, the over-apologetic groom-to-be, continues his streak of regret, this time apologizing profusely to Rahi for his uncontrollable anger. Rahi, not to be left behind in the guilt Olympics, apologizes right back. The two share a moment of excitement for their upcoming nuptials, only for Prem to then throw in a demand—he wants to meet Rahi before the wedding. Rahi, sticking to tradition, refuses. But Prem, ever the stubborn romantic, insists that since it’s a destination wedding, the rules don’t apply. And thus begins another round of predictable back-and-forth, because what’s an Indian wedding without some last-minute drama?
Meanwhile, Anupama, the self-declared wedding planner, is running around ensuring every tiny detail is perfect. Hasmuk and Leela, in their rare moment of wisdom, ask Anupama to take a breather. But Anupama, true to her never-resting persona, stresses over the catering service accepting another last-minute order. Because naturally, in Anupama’s world, caterers should have nothing better to do than cater to her every whim. Kinjal and Paritosh, the only two somewhat rational people, suggest that Anupama focus on Rahi instead of micro-managing everything. Ishani also jumps in, assuring Anupama that she will handle Rahi’s makeup. But will Anupama listen? Highly unlikely.
Elsewhere, the melodrama escalates with Gautam seething in anger over Rahi’s praise from the guards. His plan to separate Rahi and Prem is failing, and he takes out his frustration on Prathana. She, on the other hand, tries to shut him down, but Gautam, in his ever-toxic masculinity, warns her to stay in her limits. The scene takes a darker turn as Gautam misbehaves and threatens Prathana, leaving her emotionally shattered. Because, obviously, what’s an Indian soap without a problematic villain harassing the female lead?
Over at the Kothari household, wedding preparations are in full swing. Baa, ever the efficiency expert, instructs Khyati to book videography. Parag adds his deep philosophical wisdom—that weddings, grand or simple, take the same amount of effort. Anil chimes in, stating the night before the wedding is always “heavy.” Heavy with emotions? Heavy with unnecessary drama? Probably both.
Amidst all this, Anupama finds a moment to pack Rahi’s bags. What follows is the quintessential ‘Sanskaari Bahu 101’ lecture. Anupama, never one to pass up on a life lesson opportunity, imparts wisdom on how to be the ideal daughter-in-law. She instructs Rahi to impress her new family, maintain her self-respect (but only to an extent that doesn’t offend others), voice her opinions carefully, and above all, ensure that romance in the marriage doesn’t fizzle out. Because clearly, Anupama has mastered all of this herself. Rahi, ever the obedient listener, assures Anupama that she will balance family and love. The mother-daughter duo break down in tears, making for the perfect overdramatic end to the episode.

This episode did what every Indian soap does best—pile on an unrealistic amount of drama in a single day. The whole “surprise wedding” trope was classic but ridiculously impractical. Rahi’s initial reaction was the only realistic thing about it. Anupama’s micromanaging tendencies remain frustrating, as does her need to be the moral compass for every woman in the show. Prem’s obsession with meeting Rahi before the wedding seemed forced, but at least it provided some additional entertainment. The real tension, however, was Prathana’s encounter with Gautam, which took a dark turn. Hopefully, the show doesn’t brush this under the carpet in the next episode.

While the episode had its entertaining moments, it also suffered from the usual pitfalls—unnecessary lecturing, over-the-top reactions, and conveniently timed dramatic developments. The highlight was definitely the underlying humor in Anupama’s relentless over-involvement in wedding prep, coupled with Rahi’s justified bewilderment. Gautam’s toxicity, however, was a sore point, and the showrunners need to handle such content with care rather than using it for mere dramatic effect.
Best Dialogue: “Rahi, shaadi ke baad sirf pati ko impress karna kaafi nahi hota, poori family ko manana padta hai.” Because what’s a marriage if not a full-time job of keeping everyone happy?
Rating: 2.5/5 The episode had its moments but was weighed down by the predictable tropes. The roasting-worthy elements made it watchable, but the preachy monologues and forced drama made it exhausting.
