The episode kicks off with some warmth—Jagdish and Om manage to cheer up a gloomy Ragini. Om, ever the sweet talker, says he’d give up his life just to see them smile. Then, like a proud kid with a report card, he pulls out his appointment letter and shares the big news: he’s landed a job! Jagdish beams and hugs him tight, while Isha quietly shares the joy in her eyes.
Just then, Gayatri walks in—Queen of Ram Bhavan and mood-checker-in-chief. She asks what the excitement is about. Om tells her he got the job and nudges her for some congratulations. But Gayatri? Nope. She coolly says she’ll wait till he proves he can hold the job. Only then will he earn her hug and blessings. Oh, and she reminds Isha to get ready for work from the next day. At the office, no family drama—just boss and employee. Isha agrees and promises to keep the lines clear.
Next morning, Isha is juggling chores like a woman on a mission. Gayatri asks for her sarees from Acharya, and Isha hands over a bunch of already ironed ones. But that doesn’t cut it for Gayatri. She demands a different stack. Isha gently suggests she manage with these for just a day. That was the spark.
Gayatri flares up. She gathers everyone and begins a power-packed lecture, starting with a little budgeting class. She asks Janki for the grocery cost—25k. Then she asks Acharya about medicine expenses—7k. Then it’s Ragini’s college and travel—15k. She throws in some extra bits and arrives at a grand total of 90k–1 lakh per month. Who’s footing the bill? According to Gayatri, it’s her—single-handedly running Ram Bhavan for 8 years. She reminds everyone how easy it is to forget the backbone when the roof is intact.
Jagdish tries to calm her down, but Gayatri shuts him down. She’s not done yet. She looks straight at Isha and brings up her offer to contribute Om and her share—around 50k. With Isha earning only 25k, Gayatri sarcastically asks how she plans to manage that. Isha tries to clarify, but Gayatri cuts her off. From day one, she claims, she’s been enduring Isha’s “attitude” and “tantrums.” Not anymore.
Acharya, ever the peacemaker, agrees with Gayatri—says everyone should pitch in to keep the house running. He tries to take the sarees for ironing, but Gayatri stops him. “No need now,” she says. Her message has landed. Today, she’ll make do with whatever’s ironed. It’s not about the saree—it’s about respect.
