YRKKH 18th April 2025 Written Update: Ruhi’s dreams. Today in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, the episode kicks off with Ruhi turning into a full-blown romantic heroine—hugging Armaan’s shirt like it’s her emotional support item. She’s surprised at her own Bollywood-level feelings. Girl, the shirt isn’t a diary—he won’t read it and know you love him.
Meanwhile, Charu shows up at Kiara’s place unannounced and early—classic elder sister move. Kiara’s like, “Why did you call me then?” and Charu fires back, “I’m your sister, I don’t need a reason!” The emotional whiplash is real. Charu drops a sad bomb—after Rohit’s gone, they need to stick together. Cue the violin. Then comes the gossip twist—Charu learns that Krish has joined the firm. Suspicious eyebrow raise, anyone?
Cut to Krish telling Armaan and Abhira about his new office debut. Armaan immediately suspects that shady Sanjay had something to do with it. Abhira, the voice of reason, reminds Armaan that Krish isn’t a puppet—he’s got a spine, even if it’s still under construction.
Elsewhere, Charu plays detective and starts digging into Samrat. She fishes around Kiara for details, who casually reveals that Samrat used to study at her college. Charu lights up—apparently, Abhira has mentioned him, and now she’s on a mission.
Back in Armaan-Abhira world, he invites her out for coffee (subtle date alert), but before things get mushy, Armaan notices her footwear and gets curious. Abhira explains that since Ruhi is sacrificing so much, she’s trying to walk a mile in her shoes—literally. Also, she misses the feeling of being a mother. Armaan finds her little empathy act kind of adorable. Someone’s catching feelings!
Now comes the award-winning bizarre act: Abhira puts a pillow under her shirt to simulate pregnancy. Yes, a pillow. Vidya discovers it and flips. Enter Kaveri, who—surprise, surprise—spits venom like a pro. She accuses Abhira of faking motherhood, tells her to accept her reality, and adds that the baby will know Ruhi as his real mom. Ouch. Abhira fights back, using Armaan’s bond with Vidya (who’s not his birth mom) as an example. Kaveri, clearly playing for drama, says Armaan only changed after Shivani came back. Seriously, can someone mute her?
Abhira spirals into self-blame and feels guilty for her pillow experiment. She even feels sorry for Ruhi, who happens to be eavesdropping. Ruhi, surprisingly, doesn’t get mad—she actually understands where Abhira’s coming from. For once, some maturity.
Vidya gets teary-eyed thanks to Kaveri’s cruel words. Ruhi overhears her and finally grows a spine, asking Kaveri to apologize to both Vidya and Abhira. But of course, Kaveri wouldn’t be Kaveri if she didn’t manipulate the situation. She tells Ruhi that being a surrogate will only bring heartbreak. That once Armaan and Abhira have their happy family, Ruhi will be left in the dust with Daksh. Cue dramatic music. Ruhi insists that Armaan and Abhira would never abandon her, but Kaveri throws one last dose of gloom, claiming Ruhi’s fantasy world will come crashing down. Ruhi is left shaken and confused—maybe even questioning her own decisions.
Precap: Armaan sweetly offers coffee to Abhira, but she declines—because Ruhi can’t have coffee, and she’s still living the pillow life. Armaan realizes she’s still playing pretend. Abhira begs him to understand: she just wants to feel what it’s like to be a mother. Someone hand this girl a tissue… and maybe a therapist.
— This episode had it all: pillow pregnancies, emotional manipulation, suspicious siblings, and surprise shirt-hugging. Abhira’s heart is in the right place, but the drama is peaking. And Kaveri? She really needs a vacation and maybe a reality check.
