The trio now lives together under one roof, functioning like a small, resilient family unit. Abhira has clearly matured—she’s extra careful with everything she does, making sure not to repeat past mistakes. The trauma of their downfall still lingers in her cautious steps.
As the day begins, Kaveri and Vidya call out to her. Their relationship carries the warmth of familiarity, but also a newfound urgency. Abhira, half-joking and half-serious, scolds them for almost heading out without properly draping their saris. Her tone may be playful, but her mindset is sharp—she’s not letting anything slide.
Kaveri laughs it off, teasing her for acting like an old woman despite her youth. But Abhira pushes them along, reminding them they’re already running late. With Vidya navigating, the three hop onto a scooty—Kaveri at the wheel.
Their little ride takes an unexpected turn—Kaveri bumps into something, and the police stop them. What begins as a minor incident escalates quickly. The officers decide to drag all three to the police station. Abhira, thinking on her feet, urges Vidya to de-escalate. Vidya appeals to their sympathy, pointing to Kaveri’s age. But that backfires when Kaveri gets offended at being called old. “Old lady? Really?” she snaps, more hurt than helped.
Eventually, things settle, and Kaveri drops Abhira at the courthouse. But as they pass by the familiar building, it tugs at old scars. Kaveri’s eyes cloud with emotion. She sighs, reflecting on how much has changed. Abhira softly tells her not to dwell in the past, and they share a quiet, meaningful moment. Vidya offers a peppy cheer, and Kaveri reminds Abhira to stay focused on her work. In return, Abhira wishes them success in their sari sales for the day.
Inside court, Abhira is discussing her ongoing case over the phone with Kaveri. As she talks, she spots a jar of mayonnaise and casually picks it up—because, of course, why not?
Meanwhile, at their sari stall, Kaveri and Vidya are trying to make sales. But Kaveri’s habit of being a bit too direct ruins a potential deal. Vidya panics and immediately calls Abhira for help. Without hesitation, Abhira pauses her court talk and dashes back—mayonnaise jar still in hand.
Abhira steps in and works her magic with the customer. Her tact and warmth turn the tide, and they successfully make a sale. It’s a small win, but for them, it’s everything. The three share a moment of joy as they count their earnings—this is their version of a celebration.
On the way back home, Vidya and Abhira stop at the market for vegetables, but naturally, they bicker over the freshness of tomatoes and the amount of coriander—petty squabbles that only prove how close they’ve grown. Kaveri watches them and can’t help but laugh at their banter.
Back at home, dinner becomes a scene of teasing. Abhira and Kaveri playfully complain that Vidya cooks the same boring vegetable dish every time. In the middle of this lighthearted moment, Kaveri randomly starts craving mayonnaise—perhaps a nod to the comfort food they once enjoyed in better times.
But just as things get cozy, the lights go out. Vidya sighs—they’ve run out of candles. Before anyone can spiral into frustration, Abhira finds a clever way to light up the room. Her quick thinking fills their humble home with warmth again.
Kaveri looks around and takes it all in. Their life is far from perfect—money is tight, the comforts are few—but they’re together. “We may be struggling,” she says softly, “but at least we have each other.” Her voice trembles as she admits she still misses the Poddars, the family and life they once had.
Abhira gently rests her hand on Kaveri’s shoulder. Her eyes burn with quiet determination. “One day,” she promises, “we’ll return. And we’ll reclaim everything that was taken from us.” The resolve in her voice brings tears to Kaveri’s eyes. That fire, that hope—it’s still alive.
