“Jhanak” 2.0? Or Just a Rerun in New Costumes? Fans Slam Makers for Repeating the Same Old Storyline After Leap. Another generation leap, another love triangle, same old Jhanak… literally.
Star Plus’ once-celebrated show Jhanak is back with a new generation twist—but viewers aren’t exactly throwing confetti. In a move that feels more like déjà vu than drama, the makers have pressed the reset button, recycled the plot, changed a few faces, and dared to call it “fresh.” The result? The same saga with a slightly updated cast—and fans aren’t buying it.
Jhanak Becomes Nutan, But Her Past Stays Intact
The original lead, Hiba Nawab, has bid her final goodbye to the show. Her character, Jhanak, has now been rebranded as Nutan. But instead of reinventing her arc, the makers had her pass on the legacy—by naming her daughter Jhanak. Yes, you read that right. The torch wasn’t just passed; it was labeled and looped back.
The younger Jhanak, now the show’s lead, is essentially walking her mother’s path. Played by Riya Sharma, she finds herself caught between love and rivalry—surprise, surprise—with Moon, Arshi and Anirudh’s daughter.
Love Triangle Repackaged: Rishi, Moon, and Jhanak… Again
In what appears to be a page ripped straight out of the older scripts, the new male lead Rishi, portrayed by Arjit Taneja, starts off falling for Moon. But as fate (read: the writers) would have it, his heart eventually shifts towards Jhanak. Familiar much? Because it is.
The village vibes, the city hustle, the family complications—they’ve all been rewrapped in the same old cellophane. Arshi and Anirudh are still around, serving continuity, but ironically making the “generation leap” feel anything but new.
Where Are the Original Stars?
The original trio—Hiba Nawab, Krushal Ahuja, and Chandni Sharma—have exited the show post-leap. They bowed out, perhaps sensing the redundancy of sticking around for Act II of a tale that refuses to evolve.
Their replacements—Riya Sharma, Arjit Taneja, and Twinkle Arora—have now taken the spotlight, trying to breathe life into a storyline that’s already played out. While the actors bring fresh energy, even their performances can’t mask the rinse-and-repeat script.
Viewers React: “We’ve Seen This Before!”
Social media is buzzing with mixed emotions. Loyal fans are heartbroken that RuNak’s saga was wrapped up prematurely. Others are calling out the makers for their lack of originality.
“We waited months for this leap, only to be served the same plot with different faces. It’s disappointing,” tweeted one fan.
“It’s like watching a rerun with new actors. They didn’t even bother changing the setting,” wrote another.
Same Story, Different Names—Is It Worth Watching?
It’s a bold gamble—trying to re-tell the same love triangle under the illusion of a new generation. While the drama, emotion, and aesthetic may still appeal to some, the larger audience is left wondering: What’s the point of a leap if the story refuses to move forward?
As Jhanak embarks on this déjà vu journey, one thing is clear—the makers are banking on nostalgia and familiarity. Whether that translates into TRPs or turns into a misfire, only time (and the patience of the viewers) will tell.
