Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 28th June 2025 Written Update: Armaan’s Cowardice Shatters Abhira – Pookie’s Truth Buried Again. The episode unravels with Armaan drowning in guilt. He sees Abhira standing alone, lost in thoughts, and blames himself for her suffering. Like a self-sacrificing martyr (or so he thinks), he tells Abhira to move on with Anshuman. He justifies this suggestion by saying everyone is talking about Anshuman, subtly pressuring her to consider him as if society’s gossip decides a woman’s fate.
Abhira’s eyes fall upon a cardboard box nearby, a mundane object for others but a deeply emotional trigger for her. It reminds her of Pookie – the child she lost, the one who left a void in her soul. She confesses to Armaan that every time she sees boxes, she still secretly hopes to find Pookie one day, alive and waiting for her.
In that vulnerable moment, Abhira confronts Armaan with raw pain and simmering rage. She accuses him outright – telling him that he wants her to move on only because he has already moved on himself. Her voice quivers with disbelief as she questions how he could replace Pookie with Myra so easily. Abhira’s heartbreak drips through her words when she tells him that he always yearned for a family, and now he seems happy playing house with Geetanjali and Myra. She hits his conscience hard by reminding him that he was so desperate to begin a new chapter that he didn’t even have the decency to formally end their story before proposing to Geetanjali.
Armaan stands shattered, each word piercing him like shards of glass. Until that moment, he never realised that Abhira had been tirelessly looking for him and Pookie for years, nurturing a dying hope while he buried himself in comfort and convenience.
As fate would have it, Kaveri arrives and sees Armaan broken down. He hugs her tight, seeking solace. But Kaveri is in no mood for sympathy. With biting sarcasm, she reminds him how he broke their family seven years ago. She taunts that breaking the house wasn’t enough for him, and now he is busy breaking glassware too – a classic Kaveri roast.
Meanwhile, Geetanjali asks Myra to stop running around the house. Dadu notices Geetanjali’s withdrawn mood and suggests she visit Armaan, believing he might need her support. Geetanjali, however, refuses, silently battling her insecurities.
The scene shifts to Vidya’s health crisis. Armaan and Abhira rush her to the hospital for surgery. Vidya is visibly worried, and Kaveri consoles her like a protective sister. Abhira requests Armaan to comfort Vidya, and he complies, holding Vidya’s hand and reassuring her with his presence. During this emotional moment, Kaveri and Vidya come to know that Anshuman has recommended Dr. Shastri for the surgery. Abhira remains silent, subtly grateful.
In another part of the house, Myra is pestering Geetanjali to sign papers for a trip permission. When Geetanjali refuses, Myra suggests that in Armaan’s absence, she can sign it herself. Geetanjali looks at a photo of herself with Armaan and Myra and slips into her daydreams again – fantasising about a happy family where she finally feels secure and accepted.
Back at the hospital, Abhira thanks Anshuman for his timely help. Armaan watches them from a distance, his heart tightening with jealousy. He wonders why seeing Anshuman make Abhira smile is hurting him so deeply when he himself chose to walk out of her life.
As the day moves on, Abhira discusses Vidya’s hospital bills, and Armaan offers to pay them without a word. While Abhira and Anshuman continue talking, Armaan quietly leaves like a ghost, avoiding confrontation, guilt weighing him down.
Elsewhere, Kiara gossips with Tanya about Abhira’s life. She tells Tanya that Tanya’s brother likes Abhira, but quickly asserts that no one can ever replace Armaan in Abhira’s heart. Tanya is shocked, and perhaps even slightly threatened by this revelation.
Towards the episode’s end, Abhira shares her ice cream with Armaan. A fleeting moment of lost love flickers between them. They see a couple playing with their child, and Abhira’s eyes well up with tears as she misses Pookie. She asks Armaan if staying away from Pookie was as difficult for him as it was for her. Armaan is speechless, unable to muster courage to speak the truth. Abhira, oblivious to his lies, assumes he avoids talking about Pookie because he is hurting just like her.

In the precap, Armaan takes the final cowardly route and decides to hide Pookie’s truth from Abhira. Abhira, sensing his restlessness, stops him from leaving. She pleads with him to at least stay back until Vidya’s surgery is over. Her final words sting with truth as she demands closure for their love story – a closure she deserves.

Today’s episode was a cocktail of heartbreak, anger, and sheer frustration. Abhira’s vulnerability was beautifully portrayed, and her pain was almost tangible. However, what really stands out is Armaan’s cowardice. His silence isn’t strength; it is selfishness wrapped in guilt. He has no right to bury Pookie’s truth like some dirty secret while playing the ideal father figure for Myra.
Armaan deserves a harsh reality check. His self-pity is nauseating at this point. Instead of facing the consequences of his betrayal, he chooses the easy way out – burying the truth deeper and deeper while asking Abhira to “move on.” How convenient for him to expect her to find peace when he himself denies her closure.
It is infuriating to see him live with Geetanjali and Myra, creating new family portraits, while Abhira roams the world carrying boxes, clinging to fading hope about Pookie. Armaan’s character arc has fallen flat into cowardice. He does not deserve Abhira’s forgiveness until he spills the truth about Pookie – the child who was her everything.
