Bade Acche Lagte Hai 7th July 2025 Written Update: The Great Rishabh Mystery. Midnight Kebabs, Missing Fathers, & Arrests.
Today’s episode was a dramatic buffet – betrayal, suspicion, emotional blackmail, cheap kebabs, and family tears flowing like monsoon rivers.
The episode kicks off with Vinay turning into Sherlock Holmes. He notices Rishabh sneaking out of the house at midnight like a teenager breaking hostel curfew. Suspicious, he follows him through dark gullies into a rundown area. Vinay wonders what business Rishabh has in this shady lane at such an hour.
Rishabh, meanwhile, is behaving like a local gangster’s sidekick, answering phone calls with cryptic lines like “I’m on my way.” Vinay watches from a distance, his imagination running wild with possibilities of secret affairs, black market deals, or an illegal biryani smuggling ring.
At home, Bhagyashree is lost in emotional la-la land, thinking about how much Rishabh has done for her. She notices he didn’t take a pillow or blanket. Assuming he’s sleeping in the hall, she checks – only to find an empty space. Padma enters dramatically and announces that their father is missing too, leaving his phone at home. Bhagyashree, ever the naive optimist, suggests they’re out for a walk. A midnight father-son bonding stroll in dark gullies? Sure, Bhagyashree.
The doorbell rings, raising their hopes. Bhagyashree opens the door, expecting the lost men, but is instead greeted by her brother Shreyas. His expression screams “I hate being here.” Padma tries the traditional welcome, but Shreyas brushes it off coldly. When asked about Revati, he snaps back that she has exams. He throws dagger-filled glances at Bhagyashree while she awkwardly offers to make tea.
Padma, meanwhile, decides it’s the perfect moment to show Shreyas a photo of Bhagyashree and Rishabh together. Shreyas looks at it like he’s decoding an alien language. His inner monologue screams “This isn’t the man she once loved.”
Shreyas storms into the kitchen, confronting Bhagyashree about Rishabh’s identity. She says he’s her husband, but Shreyas, the self-appointed truth committee, reminds her that he saw the man she loved earlier and Rishabh isn’t him. Thanks, detective, but we’re already knee-deep in confusion.
Meanwhile, Vinay continues tailing Rishabh, who’s buying chicken and mutton kebabs like a hungry bachelor after Friday prayers. Vinay, in his suspicious delusion, thinks Padma is secretly planning to buy a house for Rishabh. Bro, he’s just buying kebabs. Calm down.
Rishabh senses he’s being followed and turns back, but Vinay hides behind a wall like a professional stalker. A girl nearby offers “services” to Vinay, mistaking him for a customer in this shady area, but he rejects her with disgust and continues his tailing mission.
Back at home, Bhagyashree and Shreyas’ cold war continues. Padma reveals to Sowmya that they’re planning to gift Bhagyashree a flat using fixed deposits. Sowmya’s heart stops for a second, but she composes herself and plots to stop this plan. Classic vamp energy unlocked.
Rishabh meets someone in the alley, while Bhagyashree tries calling him, worried. Vinay, hiding and sweating, realises he doesn’t have his phone to call anyone. He presses his ear to the shady room’s wall, trying to listen in.
Inside the guest room, Shreyas vents to Sowmya about staying in Bhagyashree’s house. Sowmya fuels his anger, revealing the FD was meant for his education abroad. Just then, Bhagyashree enters with tea, only to be greeted by Shreyas’ harsh words. He calls her selfish, blames her for destroying their father’s health, and reveals he’s been in the ICU for twelve days. Bhagyashree is shattered. Tears flow as Shreyas storms off, leaving her guilt-ridden and broken.
Padma waits for Vinay’s return. Bhagyashree confronts her about hiding their father’s health. Padma, torn between love and duty, breaks down, saying she felt helpless. Bhagyashree sobs, asking if she’ll ever be forgiven. Padma assures her of their love.
Meanwhile, Vinay bangs on the room door where Rishabh entered, demanding he come out. The police arrive for a raid. Vinay, seeing his chance to be the hero, tells the inspector that his son-in-law Rishabh is inside. The police break down the door, but the room is empty. Vinay’s face falls. Despite his insistence that he saw Rishabh enter, the police don’t believe him and arrest him for creating a public nuisance. Imagine getting arrested because your son-in-law buys midnight kebabs in shady gullies. Only in Indian TV.
Back home, Bhagyashree tells Padma she doesn’t want the flat. Padma thinks Sowmya poisoned her mind, but Bhagyashree says their love and forgiveness are enough for her happiness.
Just then, Padma gets a shocking call and drops the phone. Rishabh picks it up and learns that Vinay has been arrested. He is stunned. Bhagyashree is equally shocked. Rishabh announces he will go to the station. Shreyas offers, but Rishabh says he’ll handle it as a local.

Worst Scene: Vinay getting arrested because police couldn’t find Rishabh. Seriously, cops, do your job.
Most Ridiculous: Rishabh sneaking out for kebabs. Bro, Swiggy and Zomato exist.
Most Suspicious: Rishabh’s mystery meet-up and Vinay’s unhinged stalking. Feels like an unnecessary crime thriller track.
