Kumkum Bhagya 21st July 2025 Written Update: Shivansh’s Broken Imagination and Smita’s Maternal War. Today in Kumkum Bhagya, Shivansh drives off. Sonalika and Bua Maa fail to stop him. Raunak asks Smita why she slapped him, what she wants. He tells her that she would ask him to please Shivansh, but he can’t do it; Shivansh is his stepbrother and he can’t accept him. He asks the family if they have accepted Shivansh. He declares that he will not let Shivansh enter his life and house.
He asks Smita why she hugged Shivansh when she used to hate him. She tells him that Shivansh came to his mandap and snatched his Prarthna, but she didn’t see him breaking down. He asks Kanti why Smita slapped him. He says it’s not his fault. Baa asks Raunak not to disrespect Smita and Kanti. Raunak tells Baa that Smita was already wrong, but he got to know this after years. He condemns Smita. He says Smita always proves him wrong for Shivansh’s sake. Kanti and Baa ask him not to insult Smita.
Raunak shouts that he doesn’t care about Shivansh. Smita tells him that she is talking about Prarthna too. How can Raunak falsely blame her? Shivansh can’t tolerate anything against her. Prarthna didn’t turn to see Raunak once she got married to Shivansh; she isn’t characterless, and Raunak shouldn’t have stained her character. She asks Raunak what happened to him now.
Raunak tells Smita that she doesn’t know anyone but makes big claims. Smita tells him that she knows Raunak, Shivansh, and Prarthna. She says Prarthna never crosses her limits. She doesn’t want anyone to point a finger at Prarthna. Raunak says Smita’s love is for Shivansh. He reminds her that she used to speak against Prarthna, but now she is favoring Prarthna for Shivansh’s sake.
She tells him that she loves him and gets hurt when her sons are hurt. Raunak tells her that she can’t get both her sons. He asks her to choose between Shivansh and him. She tells him that she can’t choose between her two eyes. Raunak asks her to make Shivansh her two eyes and leaves. Smita shatters. She sits crying. Kanti consoles her.
Bua Maa, Tanya, and Sonalika come home. They learn that Shivansh didn’t come home. Sonalika says she will ask Kartik to speak to Shivansh. Bua Maa asks her to help Shivansh. Sonalika calls Kartik and asks him to track Shivansh’s car and reach him. Kartik agrees and asks what happened. She tells him everything. Prarthna goes to the office and doesn’t find Shivansh there.
She tells the manager that Shivansh isn’t at home or office. He tells her Shivansh didn’t come since morning. Prarthna goes to look for Shivansh. She meets her old friend Swati and tells her that she is looking for her husband. Swati tells her she is happy for Prarthna, who got her love. Prarthna tells her she loves him but hasn’t confessed her feelings. Swati asks her to embrace fate and confess. Prarthna agrees and rushes to find Shivansh.
Shivansh thinks of Prarthna. He stops the car and walks. Prarthna reaches the same road and senses he is around. She calls him. She hears his ringtone and looks for him. Smita stuns Bua Maa by visiting Randhawa house. Bua Maa asks why she came. Smita says she came to meet Shivansh. Bua Maa asks if she wants to bond with him. She tells Smita their bond is broken and she should leave. Smita says Shivansh is her son. Bua Maa laughs and taunts her for leaving him to flourish her own life.
Smita says she wants to speak to her son. Bua Maa calls security. Smita says she has a right on him. Bua Maa tells her Shivansh doesn’t need her and she shouldn’t come to claim a mother’s rights. She asks guards to throw Smita out. Smita says Bua Maa is doing wrong. Shivansh and Prarthna see each other. She runs into his arms. They embrace. He wonders what’s happening. She says it’s love. He hugs her tightly. His imagination breaks. He sees a drunkard there. The man argues with him, asking him to drink if he wants.
Bua Maa warns Smita not to take her place in Shivansh’s life. Smita tells her she is Shivansh’s mother and didn’t come with selfish motives. She calls Bua Maa selfish and says her hatred is burning relationships. Bua Maa accuses her of abandoning Shivansh. Smita says a mother-son relationship can’t end. Bua Maa asks why she didn’t forget Shivansh. Smita says she never forgot him, she loves Raunak and Shivansh equally, but Shivansh wasn’t with her.
Bua Maa asks if she gave him pain. Smita tells her Bua Maa knows why she left him in childhood. She threatens that a war will commence and Bua Maa will lose.
Kumkum Bhagya 21st July 2025 Written Update Review:
Today’s episode of Kumkum Bhagya unwrapped intense family conflicts with the usual flair of melodrama. Shivansh’s inner turmoil was beautifully depicted, showing a man torn between love and loneliness. His imagination of Prarthna hugging him was heartbreakingly sweet, only to be shattered by reality – classic soap-level pain! Smita’s confrontation with Raunak brought emotional depth, revealing her guilt, helplessness, and refusal to choose between her sons. Raunak’s bitterness continues to make him look like the resident ‘drama king’ who loves victimising himself.
The strongest scenes were between Smita and Bua Maa, where old wounds resurfaced. Smita stood tall as a mother demanding her place, while Bua Maa’s hatred blinded her to any logic. Prarthna’s desperate search for Shivansh showed her silent strength and vulnerability. The writers ensured each character had their moment, keeping viewers glued. However, Shivansh’s constant self-pity and Raunak’s venomous rants are getting repetitive – someone please hand them a box of tissues and sense together!
Overall, it was an emotionally heavy episode with beautiful dialogues, raw sentiments, and a good buildup for the coming episodes where Smita’s truth and Shivansh’s acceptance will take centre stage. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s storms.
