Jagriti, already reeling under the shock of Sapna’s confession, gathers her courage and confronts Sapna for the final truth. She looks straight into her sister’s eyes and asks her to swear on their mother’s life. Her voice breaks as she asks, “Tell me Sapna, is this child really Suraj’s?” Sapna stands silent for a moment, her body shivering, and then nods with tears streaming down her face. She whispers, “Yes.”
That one word is enough to burn down Suraj’s entire world.
The entire family stands in stunned silence. Ganga’s blood boils with anger. Unable to control her rage, she walks up to Suraj and slaps him hard. The sound of that slap echoes in the room. Tears roll down Ganga’s face as she scolds him for betraying their trust and ruining Jagriti’s life. Suraj remains frozen, his eyes brimming with tears, unable to utter a word in his defence.
