Kumkum Bhagya: Prarthna’s Loyalty vs. Sonalika’s Lies – Who Will Win Shivansh’s Trust?
Shivansh thinks of Prarthna. He lies down to sleep on the couch. Sonalika comes and cares for him. He takes Prarthna’s name. She isn’t affected. She smiles and tells him that she came to cover him with a blanket. He thanks her. She apologizes to him for being so harsh. She tells him that she feels he is alone, but he doesn’t need to worry—she is his love and she is always with him. She asks him to sleep and goes.
Prarthna watches this from afar and gets sad. Sonalika goes to Bua Maa and shares her joy. She hugs Bua Maa and tells her that Shivansh is sleeping in the living room. It means he has left Prarthna and now she—Sonalika—can make him hers. Bua Maa is happy for her. Sonalika apologizes for her rudeness. Bua Maa forgives her. They wish for a new start.
The next day, Bua Maa calls the servants and asks about Shivansh. Tanya tells her that Shivansh just left. Bua Maa decides to send lunch to him.
Kartik meets Shivansh at his office. He asks what’s the matter—why is Shivansh so upset? Shivansh tells him that he doesn’t know it himself. Kartik asks him if there is any pain in his life and if he wants to share. Shivansh says that he wishes to share, but he doesn’t know what to say. He adds that he betrayed Prarthna and married her. She is with Raunak—she was in love with Raunak—and she chose to go back to him. He wonders why he is feeling bad. Kartik asks him if he loves Prarthna. Shivansh denies it. Kartik tells him that maybe he is troubled because Prarthna went against him. Shivansh agrees. He asks Kartik to focus on his work. Kartik asks Shivansh to do the same.
Sonalika asks Prarthna what she is doing. Prarthna tells her that she is preparing food for Shivansh. Sonalika reminds her that Shivansh doesn’t like her. Prarthna says that he didn’t say that to her face. Sonalika rebukes her. Prarthna replies that she likes Shivansh—she is his wife and they have a relationship. Sonalika taunts her, saying Prarthna came between Shivansh and her. Prarthna answers back. Sonalika gets harsh and hurts Prarthna’s sentiments. Prarthna doesn’t care. She tells her that she just cares for Shivansh.
Sonalika reminds her that she is losing time to prove the truth. Prarthna says she still has some time left and she will prove that there is no relationship between her and Raunak. Bua Maa asks Prarthna to leave. Prarthna says she will leave the house to prove her truth and plans a comeback. She leaves.
Sonalika wants to prepare food for Shivansh. Bua Maa asks Sonalika if she can cook. Sonalika says she will watch cooking videos and try. Bua Maa offers to help. Sonalika asks her to go. Bua Maa leaves. Sonalika wonders how Prarthna will prove her innocence.
Prarthna reaches the temple and prays to Matarani. She says she has to prove her truth. She tells that she isn’t a liar. If she fails to prove her truth, she will lose her husband. She doesn’t want to lose Shivansh. Her friend Swati reaches there.
Sonalika meets Shivansh at his office. She asks him to have lunch. She says that he didn’t eat food and left for the office—Bua Maa was so worried for him. She adds that she prepared food for him. She asks him to eat. She says she hasn’t eaten anything since morning either. She insists that he eat. Shivansh eats the food. He asks why she said she prepared the food. She says she made it for him. She recalls making burnt curry and roti, and then ordering food from a dhaba. She asks Shivansh what he is thinking. He says he isn’t hungry and leaves.
He sees his staff having lunch. He recalls Prarthna bringing dinner for him and feeding him with love. He smiles thinking about her. Kartik sees Shivansh and asks if Sonalika came. Shivansh says yes. Kartik thinks Shivansh is smiling because of Sonalika. But Shivansh wants Prarthna to be stubborn and prove her truth.
Swati asks Prarthna why she is crying. Prarthna hugs her and weeps. Swati asks what’s the matter. Prarthna tells her that she doesn’t want to lose Shivansh—she got to know about love only after meeting him. Raunak is ruining her life. He lied to Shivansh about their affair. Shivansh lost faith in her and now wants a divorce. She narrates everything to Swati.
Swati says that Payal and Raunak are together in this plan—and maybe Sonalika is also involved. Prarthna says everyone has turned against her. Swati encourages her to fight back. Prarthna cries. Swati tells her to prove herself right. Prarthna says how can she do it—Raunak won’t speak the truth. Swati says Shivansh will never believe Raunak. Prarthna says Payal hates her and will never say the truth. She wonders how to make Payal speak. Swati says they’ll take a disguise and go to Payal—they’ll make her confess and record everything. Prarthna is tense that Payal will recognize them. Swati says they’ll take a good disguise and meet Payal. She knows Payal will answer to the police. She smiles and says they’ll fake being police and get Payal’s confession on record.
Shivansh tells Sonalika that he has an important meeting. Sonalika says she will wait for him at home and leaves. Kartik asks Shivansh why he lied to Sonalika. Shivansh says he doesn’t want to talk to anyone. Kartik feels Shivansh is doing wrong with Sonalika. He wishes Shivansh would forget Prarthna.
Prarthna, Swati, and Mala come to Payal’s house. Prarthna fears Payal will recognize her. She quickly dons a ghunghat and hides her face.

This episode is like a pressure cooker set on low flame—slowly building the steam but not quite whistling yet. Shivansh is busy sulking in one corner, pretending he doesn’t love Prarthna while his heart practically screams her name during lunch. Kartik is the unpaid therapist of the house who clearly has no clue who Shivansh is actually thinking about. Sonalika, meanwhile, is trying to win MasterChef India by burning curry and serving dhaba food with a side of lies.
Bua Maa keeps changing loyalties like Instagram filters. One day she’s praying for Prarthna, next day she’s ready to kick her out with blessings. And Prarthna? The girl is ready to go full CID with disguises and fake police setups. Honestly, I’m impressed.
If anyone’s holding this ship afloat with sheer emotional grit, it’s Prarthna. She’s the emotional anchor, the heartbreak queen, and the plot’s underdog all at once.
