The air is light, the music is upbeat, and soon Kapil is dancing joyfully with Mangal’s children, soaking in the affection.
Monisha steps forward to wish him a happy birthday, urging him to let go of the bitter memories tied to this date in the past. Pratima thanks Mangal for the thoughtful celebration, and Mangal, with her usual humility, says it was her duty—after all, Kapil never forgets anyone’s birthday at the company. If she’d known earlier, she would have made it an even grander affair. With smiles all around, Kapil cuts the cake and shares it with everyone.
But just when the mood seems perfect, the lights suddenly go out. A screen flickers to life, and the atmosphere shifts from laughter to stunned silence. A slideshow begins—crafted by none other than Adit—and it’s not a tribute. It’s an attack. Image after image, headline after headline, it lays bare Kapil’s past: accusations of domestic violence, a wedding called off under scandalous circumstances. Gasps echo around the room as Mangal and her family stare in disbelief.
Adit’s voice cuts through the darkened room. He demands that Kapil tell everyone the truth. He accuses him of hiding the criminal case, questioning why he kept it from Mangal before agreeing to marry her. His words drip with malice as he warns that Kapil might even harm Mangal after the wedding.
Kapil, his temper rising, snaps at Adit to shut up. He admits there was a previous marriage plan that fell apart, but insists he told Mangal about it yesterday. Confused and hurt, Mangal demands to know when this supposed confession happened. Kapil says it was when she was in the washroom—she supposedly told him she had no issue with it. Mangal firmly denies it, saying she had no knowledge of any such past.
The tension thickens. Adit calls Kapil a liar, but Shanti steps in, telling Adit to stop targeting him. She argues that everyone has a past—pointing out that even Adit had an affair when he was married to Mangal. She reminds the room that false cases are filed easily these days, implying Kapil might have been wrongfully accused.
Adit bristles at her defense. He says she’s blinded by her fondness for Kapil, then turns his full attention to Mangal. He claims he only exposed this truth for her sake—and because his own children are involved in her life. Then, like dropping a bomb, he reveals the identity of the woman Kapil once tried to marry: Monisha. The shock ripples through the room.
Not done yet, Adit produces an FIR copy. He declares that Monisha and Kapil were set to wed, but Kapil allegedly raised his hand against her, ending the relationship. Staring Kapil down, Adit delivers his final blow—“You misbehaved with my cousin in the past, and I won’t let you go this time.”
The room is frozen in stunned silence. The festive air has vanished, replaced by suspicion, hurt, and unanswered questions.
