Jagriti 26th September 2025 Written Update: Suraj and Jagriti’s Secret Struggle. Suraj’s mind churns with frustration. “What is happening again and again? One problem settles and another explodes.” He feels he is giving people hope only to shatter it himself. In the slum he discovers medicine tablets hidden inside packets of makhana. “Where did these come from? Who put them here? This can’t be our people’s work.” He messages a contact, telling him to meet at a secret location away from surveillance.
At last he meets Jagriti without Kalikant Thakur’s camera watching. Jagriti brings a small cat-shaped spy camera as proof of how closely they are monitored. But she assures Suraj, “This basement has no network, no Wi-Fi. Here the camera won’t work. Out there we have to pretend, but here I can breathe.” She worries for Suraj’s life and urges him to recover quickly while she changes clothes and he packs their things.
Suraj leaves a letter for her: he has been forced to wear a spy-camera locket by Kalikant Thakur, who watches his every move. Suraj confesses he had to return the incriminating pen-drive to Thakur to save Jagriti’s life. Thakur injected poison into her body and controls the antidote. She has received only the first dose; the remaining doses are locked inside Thakur’s hospital. If Suraj disobeys, Jagriti will not get the medicine. “I had no other option,” he writes.
Jagriti reveals how she convinced Dr. Mukhopadhyay to give her the antidote anyway. Although the doctor works for Thakur, he is a good man under threat: Thakur has promised to kill his entire family if he resists. Jagriti has vowed to protect the doctor’s family in exchange for his help. Suraj breaks down, apologising for doubting her. “You were telling the truth. If I had believed you earlier, we wouldn’t be in this mess.”
They speak of vengeance. Kalikant Thakur has killed Shashi uncle and Sudha aunt. Suraj is still alive and swears to avenge them. Jagriti warns that they must wait for the right moment or many more lives will be ruined. She shows him the suspicious tablets found in the makhana packets, the same tablets once seen with Kachori in the market. She fears Kachori’s sickness may be caused by these pills.
Elsewhere a henchman phones Thakur: “We’ve distributed your new medicine across Chita basti. Keep my twenty-crore ready.” The man laughs that Suraj and Jagriti know everything yet can do nothing. Nobody knows whether the tablets are medicine, drugs or poison, but Thakur is playing with people’s lives for profit.
Back at the haveli preparations for Navratri begin. Jaiku calls Jagriti to perform the sacred Kalash-sthapana as the eldest daughter-in-law. There will be aarti to Ganga Maa. Shashi will lead it this time. Jagriti prays for the house to be protected from evil and for good to triumph. Suddenly a snake appears near Shashi. Everyone panics. Jagriti fires a tranquiliser dart, knocking Kalikant unconscious but saving him from being bitten. She explains to Kalindi and Jojo, “If I hadn’t shot, the snake would have struck. This is a fake bullet—he’ll wake soon.”
The plan has worked. The snake drama was a ruse to search Kalikant’s belongings. Jagriti jokes that for a second she thought Suraj had brought a real snake. They carry Kalikant to his room and begin searching for evidence.
Jagriti notices a ring on his finger vibrating—an alarm to warn him if anyone approaches. Luckily he is still unconscious. They must find proof before he wakes. At last Jagriti pulls out files filled with papers written in code words. Suraj keeps watch as she scans them, hoping these documents will be enough to expose Kalikant Thakur’s crimes and end his grip over their lives.
