Mangal Lakshmi 12th January 2026 Written Update: Sowmya’s Deadly Plan Fails, Blast Shakes Pehla Swad
The episode begins on a chilling note with Sowmya talking to herself, confidently declaring that Mangal will soon die in the blast. Her twisted happiness is interrupted when Adit walks in with breakfast and asks her what blast she is talking about. Quick on her feet, Sowmya lies and says her friend was talking about having a blast at a party. Adit asks her to eat and silently thinks about how long he will have to keep pretending in front of Sowmya just to get hold of the house papers. On the other hand, Sowmya dreams of a future where Mangal is gone and Adit belongs to her forever.
At the Pehla Swad event, Shubhi arrives and warmly offers help to Mangal. Mangal feels an instant liking toward her and asks how she knows about Pehla Swad. Shubhi replies that she knows Mangal and feels a strange sense of belonging there, as if it is her own home. A worker questions Shubhi for leaving her work, but Shubhi calmly tells her aunt that she has already completed all her responsibilities. Impressed, Mangal asks Shubhi to perform the day’s pooja. Shubhi happily agrees and goes to wash her hands. Mangal later learns from the worker that Shubhi is her niece, has no parents, and lives with them.
Soon, the investors arrive and praise Mangal for the excellent arrangements. She takes everyone to Bappa, and the pooja begins. From her car, Sowmya watches the live coverage of the Pehla Swad event with satisfaction. Mangal notices a worker misbehaving with Shubhi and feels bad. As part of the ritual, Mangal picks up a coconut to break it. The moment the coconut hits the ground, a massive blast rocks the venue.
Watching this on her screen, Sowmya smiles, convinced that her plan has finally succeeded and Mangal is dead.
Chaos follows at the Pehla Swad venue. Team members are seen badly injured. Elsewhere, Adit hurriedly searches the house for the property papers before Sowmya returns. He finally finds them in the cupboard and is shocked to discover documents showing that he has transferred the house to Sowmya. Furious, Adit calls Sowmya a dayan for taking his signatures without his knowledge. He immediately tries calling Mangal, but her phone keeps ringing unanswered.
At the blast site, Mangal lies injured on the floor. She slowly gets up and looks around at the devastation. Her eyes fall on Shubhi, lying unconscious. Panicked, Mangal calls out to her, begs her to open her eyes, and lifts her in her arms. She asks someone to call an ambulance immediately. Hearing the ambulance siren from a distance, Sowmya assumes it has come to take Mangal’s dead body and feels relieved.
Her happiness doesn’t last long. Sowmya’s henchman calls and informs her that although two people have died in the blast, Mangal has survived. Sowmya is shaken and furious. The henchman warns her that Mangal must not file a police complaint, or they will land in serious trouble.
At the hospital, Mangal finally answers Adit’s call. He anxiously asks why she wasn’t answering and whether she is safe. Mangal tells him about the blast and says she brought Shubhi to the hospital as her condition is very serious. She blames herself for what happened to Shubhi. Adit consoles her and tells her not to blame herself. He then reveals the truth about Sowmya, saying Mangal was right all along and that Sowmya prepared fake papers to grab the property. When Mangal asks what they should do next, Adit tells her to focus on herself and assures her that he will handle everything.
Mangal reflects on the fact that she and Adit are still not officially divorced. Just then, the doctors come out. A terrified Mangal asks about Shubhi’s condition and is told that she is critical.
Meanwhile, Sowmya plans to destroy all evidence before the police investigation begins. Adit confronts her and questions her involvement in the blast, leaving Sowmya stunned as she wonders how he found out the truth.
Mangal returns home, where Shanti and Kusum hug her tightly. They explain that they rushed to the event venue after hearing about the blast and later found out she was at the hospital. Mangal breaks down, saying Shubhi is in the ICU because of her. Kusum comforts her and urges everyone to pray for Shubhi’s recovery. Mangal notices a pandit performing a havan and asks about it. Kusum explains that she arranged it to bring peace to the house. Mangal sits for the pooja and prays sincerely to Mata Rani to save Shubhi’s life.
