Anupama 15th January 2026 Written Update: Garba Turns Gloomy as Prarthana Collapses and Anupama Takes a Stand
The episode begins on a lighter, almost playful note, with Rahi pulling Prem aside for a private conversation. Prem is curious about where Rahi picked up her latest ideas, and her casual reply that she learned it all from her husband instantly changes the mood. Prem teases her by mimicking her tone, and the banter slowly turns affectionate. There’s comfort here, the kind that comes from understanding rather than grand gestures. Rahi notices it too. She realizes Prem has been quietly handling all her tantrums without complaint. Prem, in his easy charm, reminds her that managing his wife’s moods is part of his husbandly duties. From a distance, Prerna watches them together, taking in every laugh and every shared glance.
Gautam, clearly uncomfortable with what he sees, pushes Mahi to intervene. Mahi approaches Prerna with a carefully crafted narrative. She claims that Rahi and Prem are unhappy, that Prem only started smiling after Prerna returned, and that Rahi’s bossy nature is suffocating him. But fate has other plans. Right in front of Prerna’s eyes, Rahi and Prem are laughing, relaxed, and very much in sync. Prerna shuts Mahi down with surprising clarity. She calls out Mahi’s jealousy and advises her to focus on enjoying her own married life instead of dissecting someone else’s. Mahi and Gautam are left fuming, their plan backfiring spectacularly.
Festive energy takes over as the Shahs and the Kotharis gather for Garba. Leela initially decides to sit with Prarthana and urges Ansh to go enjoy himself. Prarthana, however, insists that Ansh should join the celebrations and even encourages Leela to participate. Leela hesitates, worried about leaving Prarthana alone, but Prarthana reassures her that everyone is nearby. That’s when Leela’s competitive streak resurfaces. She jokingly declares that she can easily compete with Vasundhara in Garba. With Prarthana’s blessing, Leela joins the dance floor, instructing her not to move from her place.
Elsewhere, Rajni video-calls Anupama and is visibly surprised to see Prerna there. Bharti and Varun wish Anupama warmly, and Anupama praises Bharti, proud of her growth. Bharti invites Anupama to return, but Anupama encourages them to fully enjoy Makar Sankranti. Rajni assures Anupama that she will celebrate the festival at the chawl in a way no one has ever imagined. She also checks in with Bharti, asking if she is truly happy. Bharti admits she once doubted Rajni because of her political background, but now understands that Rajni is different. Rajni delivers a layered line, saying politicians are not inherently bad, situations shape them. She asks Bharti if she would judge her for taking a tough decision for society’s benefit. Bharti says she would never judge her. Rajni and Varun exchange a knowing smirk, hinting that something far bigger is brewing.
The happiness shatters in seconds. Prarthana suddenly collapses. Panic spreads across both families as she is rushed for medical help. The doctor later informs them that Prarthana is out of danger, bringing a wave of relief. Ansh and Khyati break down emotionally on seeing her. Anupama, shaken, says she prays every day for her children’s happiness and adds that if anything were to happen to Prarthana, she would stop praying altogether. Leela crumbles under guilt, blaming herself for not taking proper care of Prarthana.
Instead of empathy, blame takes center stage. Vasundhara lashes out at the Shahs, holding them responsible. Gautam adds fuel to the fire by accusing Leela and Anupama. Parag regrets sending Prarthana to the Shah house in the first place. Anupama refuses to stay silent. She reminds him that the Kotharis were equally present and questions why they didn’t take responsibility either. Ansh stands helpless, worried sick for Prarthana. In a shocking outburst, Parag throws a shoe at Ansh. Anupama immediately confronts him, reminding Parag that in their culture, sons-in-law are respected, not humiliated. Parag crosses another line by hitting Ansh. Anupama steps in front of Ansh, shielding him, and the argument escalates. She firmly assures Parag that she will personally take care of Prarthana until she recovers. Leela continues to drown in self-blame, while Vasundhara coldly asks her to stop creating drama.
Later, Parag meets Prarthana and announces his decision to take her back to the Kothari house. Prarthana admits she feels safe around Ansh and Leela, but Parag is unmoved. He tells Anupama that once the baby is delivered, he will take both Prarthana and the child away. He reminds Anupama of her promise and warns her that if anything happens to Prarthana, she will be held responsible. Anupama reassures him calmly. Ansh, torn but respectful, says that if Prarthana wants to go, he won’t stop her. Parag ends the discussion by declaring his decision final.
The episode closes on a heavy note, with relationships strained and trust hanging by a fragile thread.
In the precap, Preet informs Anupama that a builder is set to demolish the chawl. Prem, Rahi, Prerna, and Anupama rush to Mumbai, where Anupama is stunned to learn about Rajni and Parag’s involvement in the demolition.
Anupama 15th January 2026 Written Update Review
This episode balances warmth and cruelty with unsettling ease. The Rahi–Prem moments bring much-needed softness, while Prarthana’s collapse jolts the narrative into harsh reality. Anupama once again stands tall as the moral spine of the story, especially during Parag’s violent outburst. Rajni’s quiet political undertones add an intriguing layer, hinting at bigger conflicts ahead. The episode effectively shows how celebrations can quickly turn into battlegrounds when egos and control take over.
