Jhanak 17th February 2026 Written Update: Rishi Kidnapped as Blame Falls on Jhanak
The episode opens on an emotional yet awkward moment as Aniruddh gifts Jhanak a diamond necklace. Rishi and Jhanak both feel the gift is unnecessary, but Aniruddh insists she accept it as a blessing. He asks her to keep it safe, carrying the quiet hope of being part of her life even now. Tanushri remains uneasy watching the gesture, while Abhimanyu and Neelu criticize Jhanak, claiming she doesn’t understand the value of such expensive gifts. Aniruddh entrusts Putul with the responsibility of keeping Jhanak’s jewelry safe, and Putul agrees.
Aniruddh goes further, saying he will send gifts for Rishi’s family, Parashar, and even the villagers. Jhanak questions his sudden affection, reminding him that he never accepted her as his daughter before. Rishi gently intervenes, telling Jhanak to let Aniruddh do what he wants since she has already forgiven him. Before leaving, Aniruddh admits he is bound by many relationships but would still like to be a supporting parent in her life. Jhanak listens silently, unable to respond.
Elsewhere, danger quietly takes shape. Ankush instructs his men to kidnap Rishi at any cost, setting a sinister plan in motion. At the same time, Neelu shares her scheme with Mishti. She asks Mishti to befriend Jhanak and gain access to the expensive jewelry gifted by Aniruddh. Mishti finds the plan tempting, and Neelu assures her they won’t even need to act dramatically to succeed.
Back at the house, Aniruddh prepares to leave but Dadabhai convinces him to stay for dinner. Just then, the lights suddenly go out, plunging everyone into confusion. Rishi volunteers to check the power box and assures Jhanak he will return shortly. In the darkness, Ankush’s men sneak in and attempt to abduct him. When Rishi resists, they spray a knockout chemical, but even in his half-conscious state he struggles. Another attacker arrives and strikes him, finally rendering him unconscious. The kidnappers carry him away unnoticed.
As minutes pass, Jhanak grows anxious and urges Tanushri to check on Rishi. Abhimanyu goes to look for him, but when the lights return, Rishi is nowhere to be found. Panic spreads across the house as family members begin searching desperately.
Meanwhile, Aditi and Arshi remain upset that Aniruddh skipped Aditi’s aashirvad ceremony. Aditi repeatedly calls him, but he avoids answering. When Arshi finally reaches him, Aniruddh senses trouble and quickly leaves Rishi’s house, reassuring everyone that Rishi will return soon. He blesses Jhanak before leaving, unaware of the chaos unfolding.
Jhanak is visibly shaken by Rishi’s disappearance. Putul tries to calm her, but Tanushri pulls Jhanak aside and blames her for bringing misfortune into Rishi’s life. Tension grows when Arshi and Aditi realize Aniruddh lied and actually attended Jhanak and Rishi’s wedding. Arshi decides not to confront him immediately, pretending everything is fine when he calls back.
At Rishi’s house, accusations intensify. Tanushri and Neelu openly call Jhanak unlucky, while Parashar defends his daughter fiercely. Dadabhai pleads with everyone to stay calm and focus on finding Rishi. Unknown to them, Rishi is tied to a chair at a secret location. The kidnappers declare he cannot escape and leave him alone.
Back home, Aniruddh returns and senses something is off as he finds guests gone. Arshi subtly confronts him, hinting that she knows he attended the wedding and showered Jhanak with gifts. When Aniruddh denies it, Arshi threatens to call Neelu for confirmation, making him visibly nervous.
At the hideout, Rishi regains consciousness and realizes he has been kidnapped. The men reveal their demands — money and Ankush’s release from prison. They warn that if their conditions are not met, Jhanak will suffer the consequences. Shocked and helpless, Rishi understands the gravity of the situation.
The precap hints at escalating drama. Rishi’s family blames Jhanak for everything once they learn of the kidnappers’ demands. Meanwhile, Rishi attempts a daring escape, but the kidnappers shoot him, leaving his fate uncertain.
