Mangal Lakshmi 12th May 2026 Written Update: Shubhi Shocks Everyone By Trying To Kill Mangal. The episode begins with the police arriving at the hospital to record statements regarding the fake currency racket and the horrifying bus accident. Kusum requests the inspector to question Shubhi first because Akshat is still emotionally shaken after everything he witnessed. The inspector agrees and calls Shubhi forward for questioning. Shubhi nervously sits before the police and gives her statement. She claims that she did not see any faces clearly because everyone involved in the racket was wearing masks. The inspector carefully observes her behavior and feels she is hiding something important. He indirectly pressures her to speak the truth, but Shubhi sticks to her statement and says she only remembers regaining consciousness inside the hideout and trying to save Akshat afterward.
Meanwhile, Sowmya secretly overhears Shubhi’s statement and becomes surprised that Shubhi did not expose her involvement. Adit silently feels relieved too because Shubhi’s silence protects Sowmya for now. Elsewhere, Jairaj arrives at the hospital and learns from the receptionist that Mangal has been shifted out of the operation theatre into a private room. As he walks toward her room, he notices Adit coming out from there.
Jairaj enters Mangal’s room and emotionally looks at her unconscious condition. He silently wonders why he feels so disturbed seeing Mangal injured when he remained emotionally unaffected even after losing fellow officers during dangerous missions earlier. He realizes guilt is consuming him because Mangal became involved in the dangerous mission because of him. Hoping for her recovery, Jairaj ties a sacred thread around Mangal’s wrist and asks her to wake up soon because their mission against the fake currency racket remains incomplete.
At the same time, Shubhi secretly meets Sowmya and reveals why she protected her from the police. Shubhi emotionally says she always believed Mangal loved her like her own daughter, but during the accident, Mangal chose Akshat over her. Hurt and heartbroken, Shubhi says she now wants to work for Sowmya and earn money instead of staying emotionally attached to the Saxena family. A flashback reveals the painful moment from the accident — Mangal initially tried holding Shubhi’s hand inside the hanging bus, but due to violent shaking, she lost her grip and later managed to rescue Akshat instead. The misunderstanding completely changes Shubhi emotionally.
Back in Mangal’s room, Adit questions Jairaj about his presence there. Jairaj calmly explains that he happened to witness the bus accident on the highway and tried helping the passengers. He says Mangal was already present there, though he still doesn’t know how she became involved in the situation. Adit comments bitterly that Mangal always has a habit of putting herself in danger. During the conversation, Adit notices a constable saluting Jairaj and becomes suspicious about his identity. Jairaj cleverly handles the situation by pretending the salute was meant for the commissioner standing nearby. He then speaks confidently with the commissioner and says the criminals behind the fake currency racket must be caught soon.
Elsewhere, Aarav discovers that the auto driver helping him escape is actually a disguised police officer. Realizing he has been trapped, Aarav jumps out of the moving auto and runs away desperately to save himself.
The darkest moment of the episode unfolds when Sowmya decides to test Shubhi’s loyalty. She coldly tells Shubhi that she can never trust her fully because she still behaves like Mangal’s shadow. To prove herself, Shubhi asks what she must do. Sowmya then gives her a horrifying order — remove Mangal’s oxygen mask and kill her. Shubhi freezes in fear and shock after hearing the demand.
Later, Shubhi enters Mangal’s hospital room alone. She remembers all her emotional moments with Mangal and struggles internally. However, anger and emotional pain overpower her judgment. In a heartbreaking moment, Shubhi removes Mangal’s oxygen mask, causing Mangal to struggle for breath helplessly. Terrified after her actions, Shubhi quickly leaves the room before anyone notices.
Soon, the doctor rushes in and immediately starts treating Mangal after noticing her critical breathing condition. The entire Saxena family becomes worried once again seeing Mangal’s health deteriorate suddenly. Adit too feels restless and silently admits that he cannot allow the mother of his children to die because of his illegal business connections.
Meanwhile, Sowmya proudly praises Shubhi for almost killing Mangal and officially welcomes her into her dangerous world. She tells Shubhi that from now onward, she will work under her directly.
The episode ends with Mangal fighting for her life again while Shubhi crosses a shocking moral line under Sowmya’s manipulation.

Today’s episode delivered intense emotional drama and shocking twists. Shubhi’s emotional breakdown and betrayal became the biggest turning point of the episode. The hospital sequences carried strong tension throughout, while Jairaj’s emotional concern for Mangal added depth to his character. The oxygen mask scene was disturbing yet impactful and changed the entire emotional direction of the storyline.
