Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 18th May 2026 Written Update: Abhira-Armaan’s Painful Clash Grows, Tanya Demands Divorce From Krish

Today’s episode begins with Abhira and Armaan thinking deeply about each other while struggling with their completely different perspectives. Even though they are separated emotionally, both clearly fail to move on from one another.

Meanwhile, Myra and Mukti desperately try to find a way to reunite Abhira and Armaan. They discuss how the couple cannot stay away from each other despite their constant misunderstandings. Myra emotionally says that now only God can help bring Abhira and Armaan back together.

Later, Abhira finally calls Armaan. However, Armaan tells her that although he wanted to come for their date, he has decided not to come anymore.

Their conversation soon turns emotional and bitter.

Abhira tells Armaan that she has finally understood the biggest problem in their relationship. According to her, they remain happy together only until they stop interfering in other people’s matters. She accuses Armaan of blindly supporting his brother while completely ignoring what his own mother was trying to explain earlier.

Armaan loses patience hearing this.

He tells Abhira that she cannot keep counting his mistakes forever. Abhira replies that Armaan never truly trusted her. Armaan emotionally says that he waited for two weeks hoping things would improve, only to lose faith in her completely.

Abhira reminds him that she actually returned after two weeks, but Vidya refused to let her meet him. Armaan gets shocked and asks how she could believe that he would ever send her custody papers.

Abhira explains that Vidya emotionally manipulated and frightened her by saying Myra’s health would worsen because of the situation.

Armaan argues that Abhira should have contacted him directly instead of believing others. Abhira fires back by asking if he seriously thinks only she made mistakes in their relationship. She reminds him that he separated her from Myra not once but twice.

Soon, their emotional argument turns into a full-blown confrontation about their painful past.

Armaan opens up about his lifelong insecurity and says he spent his entire life proving his worth to others. He never wanted Myra to go through the same pain. That is why he wanted Abhira to prove her love and commitment towards Myra.

Abhira gets deeply hurt hearing this.

She tells Armaan that he has no right to demand proof of her motherhood. According to her, Armaan’s fears and insecurities are making him irrational and controlling.

Elsewhere, Kaveri silently prays to God and wishes for Abhira and Armaan to reunite before the Vat Savitri puja.

The tension in the Poddar family also continues to grow.

Manisha and Manoj inform Armaan that Aryan is adamant about staying at Disha’s house until she forgives him. Armaan tries to make Aryan understand that emotionally blackmailing Disha and her family is not the solution.

On the other side, Tanya shocks everyone by demanding a divorce from Krish.

Krish completely refuses to give her a divorce. Kajal asks Abhira to intervene and say something sensible. Surprisingly, Abhira calmly says that Krish and Tanya should solve their marital issues themselves without outside interference.

Krish sarcastically comments that Abhira is finally speaking wisely for the first time.

Meanwhile, Armaan continues trying to convince Aryan to handle the situation maturely.

The episode ends with relationships hanging by a thread and emotions running dangerously high.

Review

This episode heavily focused on emotional confrontation, and honestly, the Abhira-Armaan scenes carried the entire episode on their shoulders. Their argument did not feel repetitive this time because both characters finally voiced years of hidden pain, insecurities, and misunderstandings openly.

Armaan’s emotional breakdown about constantly proving his worth added depth to his character. At the same time, Abhira’s frustration about being forced to “prove” her motherhood felt justified and heartbreaking. Neither of them looked completely wrong, which made the conflict feel real instead of dramatic for the sake of drama.

Myra and Mukti’s innocent wish to reunite them added emotional softness between all the intense arguments. Tanya demanding divorce from Krish also hints at another major family storm building in the background.

The episode mainly succeeded because of its emotional writing and layered performances rather than big twists.
