Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 24th July 2026 Written Update: Abhira Feels Like a Failed Mother as Myra Struggles Under Pressure

Today’s episode begins with Myra showing her thesis to one of her friends and eagerly asking for feedback. Instead of encouraging her, the girl bluntly says that Mukti’s thesis is far better. Seeing Myra lose confidence, she offers her a bottle containing an alcoholic drink disguised as a soft drink and tells her it will help her relax and focus better.

Feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to perform, Myra is about to drink it. Just then, Mukti arrives and immediately stops her. She warns Myra not to consume anything without knowing what it is, preventing her from making a serious mistake.

Elsewhere, Aniket discusses the recent party with Arman. He asks whether any teenager at the gathering might have accidentally consumed alcohol. Arman is surprised by the question.

Aniket explains that a soft drink company has been promoting an alcoholic beverage in packaging that resembles regular soft drinks, making it easy for teenagers to get confused. Arman confidently replies that Myra and Mukti are responsible girls who don’t even drink tea or coffee, so there is no chance they would consume alcohol knowingly.

Meanwhile, Myra and Mukti begin arguing over the thesis.

Hearing the noise, Arman approaches them and asks what happened. Both girls immediately hide the truth and pretend everything is fine. Arman believes them and simply calls everyone for dinner.

At the office, Abhira presents a new proposal before the board members.

Instead of firing senior employees, she suggests opening the Poddar Academy, where experienced staff can mentor young professionals while continuing their careers. The board members are impressed with her thoughtful solution and approve the proposal.

Sanjay is left shocked and frustrated as Abhira once again succeeds.

Back home, everyone gathers for dinner.

However, Myra quietly says she would rather eat outside in the fresh air.

Elsewhere, Disha secretly throws away her food instead of eating it. Myra does the same. The two silently agree not to reveal their personal struggles to anyone.

Disha casually mentions that she has ordered food online and asks Myra whether she wants to share it. Surprisingly, Myra refuses, saying she isn’t hungry.

Disha reminds her that she had eaten a lot during the pajama party.

Myra becomes confused because she hasn’t eaten properly for several days, yet she still doesn’t feel hungry. The mounting academic pressure continues affecting both her physical and emotional health.

Later, while struggling to finish her thesis, Myra notices Mukti’s project lying nearby.

Tempted by desperation, she begins reading Mukti’s work.

Just then, Mukti catches her.

At the same time, Abhira returns home with wonderful news.

She happily announces that the Poddar Academy proposal has been approved. The entire Poddar family applauds her achievement.

Watching everyone celebrate Abhira’s success, Myra silently feels like a failure. She believes her mother makes everyone proud while she can’t even complete a simple thesis.

Arman proudly congratulates Abhira as both share a happy moment.

Meanwhile, Sanjay quietly notices something that immediately catches his attention.

Abhira calls Myra and Mukti to celebrate with the family.

She asks Myra for a hug but suddenly notices that her daughter’s hands are trembling.

Concerned, she asks Myra whether she is feeling unwell.

Before Myra can answer, Mukti reveals that Myra hasn’t been eating properly for several days and has been surviving only on lychee drinks.

Sanjay immediately takes advantage of the situation.

Without confirming the facts, he accuses Abhira of failing as a mother. He claims that while she spends her time solving employees’ problems, she knows nothing about her own daughter’s life. According to him, Myra has been drinking alcohol right under her nose.

His harsh accusation leaves Abhira stunned.

Before Abhira can respond, Myra firmly defends her mother.

She tells Sanjay not to accuse Abhira without knowing the truth. Myra clarifies that she never consumed alcohol and only drank a lychee-flavored soft drink.

Mukti also supports Myra and confirms that her sister never drank anything inappropriate.

Myra emotionally says that Arman and Abhira are the best parents anyone could ask for. She reveals that the real pressure came because Vidya constantly expected her to become a scholar just like Mukti.

Unable to handle the emotional situation any longer, Myra walks away.

Arman then confronts Vidya.

He firmly tells her that comparing Myra and Mukti was completely wrong. Every child has a different personality, different strengths, and different dreams. Parents should never burden children with unrealistic expectations or compare siblings.

Kaveri asks Arman to go after Myra while she stays back to support Abhira.

Overcome with guilt, Abhira breaks down.

Despite everyone’s reassurance, she quietly tells herself that she has failed as a mother.

The episode ends on an emotional note.

Review:

Today’s episode beautifully explored the hidden pressure children face because of constant comparisons. Myra’s emotional struggle felt realistic and relatable, while Arman’s speech against comparing siblings delivered a strong message. Sanjay once again tried to manipulate the situation, but Myra’s fearless defense of Abhira became the highlight of the episode. The emotional ending leaves viewers eager to see how Abhira helps Myra regain her confidence.

Rating: 4.8/5
