Sairaab 12th August 2026 Written Update: Nayanika Refuses to Give Up Her Duty, Ujjaini Gives Her an Ultimatum
The episode begins with Ujjaini questioning Nayanika about the patient she treated. Nayanika reminds her that she has already seen the breaking news and knows that Ishaan was admitted to the hospital. She points out that she is a doctor, just like Ujjaini’s mother, and therefore cannot simply refuse treatment to a patient who needs medical attention.
Ujjaini, however, questions why Nayanika went to the hospital twice. Nayanika says that she is already exhausted and has to return to the hospital again. Ujjaini asks her to take leave until Ishaan is discharged, arguing that Ishaan is wealthy enough to receive treatment elsewhere.
Nayanika firmly refuses.
She tells Ujjaini that she has already changed important decisions in her personal life because of her wishes, but she will not compromise on her profession. She has responsibilities as a doctor and intends to fulfil them. Nayanika also reminds Ujjaini that she has to take care of her educational expenses, making it clear that her career cannot simply be put aside.
Grandpa supports Nayanika and agrees that she is right.
Indrani, however, taunts Nayanika by saying that Ishaan could have gone to any hospital in the city, yet he ended up at hers. Shreya further points out that the photograph of Nayanika and Ishaan has gone viral and has become a major talking point.
Nayanika says she is not bothered by the rumours.
Jaya believes the entire situation has happened because of the sindoor incident. Nayanika reminds her that she had already promised Ujjaini that she would stay away from Ishaan.
Ujjaini immediately points out that Nayanika has already broken that promise.
Nayanika explains that she could not ignore a patient who needed her help. Ujjaini argues that Nayanika only found it impossible to walk away because the patient happened to be Ishaan.
Nayanika calmly tells Ujjaini that she is her priority, but that does not mean Ujjaini can come between her and her professional responsibilities. She then walks away.
Ishaan Wants to Meet Nayanika Before Surgery
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Ishaan remains unconscious and murmurs Nayanika’s name. In his dream, he tries to fill Nayanika’s hairline with sindoor but is unable to do so.
Nayanika appears in his dream and tells him that their love has already been lost.
Ishaan suddenly wakes up in shock.
Later, he asks Sunidhi about Nayanika. Sunidhi tells him that Nayanika has already left for home. She also informs him that he will soon be taken to the operation theatre for another surgery.
Ishaan immediately says that he wants to meet Nayanika before the procedure.
However, Sunidhi tells him that Dr. Ray has another surgery to attend after Ishaan’s operation, so there is no time to arrange a meeting.
Meanwhile, Maria asks Dr. Ray whether Ishaan can be shifted to a hospital in Mumbai.
Dr. Ray says she is free to take Ishaan wherever she wants, but she will have to sign the necessary documents. He makes it clear that neither he nor the hospital will be responsible if something goes wrong while transporting Ishaan.
Bishu clarifies that they are not questioning the hospital’s ability.
Dr. Ray explains that although the hospital may not be very large, it has experienced and capable doctors. Maria then questions why Nayanika travelled to Mumbai for her own treatment if this hospital is good enough.
Dr. Ray replies that Nayanika made that decision for herself.
Maria then asks whether Nayanika will participate in Ishaan’s second surgery. Dr. Ray says it would actually be beneficial because Nayanika handled Ishaan’s ear surgery and already knows his condition.
Maria immediately asks him not to involve Nayanika.
Dr. Ray feels that Maria has misunderstood Nayanika. He makes it clear that the decision regarding the medical team is his and walks away.
He then calls Nayanika and asks her to return to the hospital and assist him with Ishaan’s next operation.
Ujjaini Gives Nayanika a Tough Choice
Nayanika prepares to leave for the hospital.
Ujjaini tries to stop her again. She tells Nayanika that if she chooses to go to Ishaan, then she should consider their relationship over.
Nayanika is left hurt by her words.
Later, Shisho meets Ujjaini and learns what happened. He advises Ujjaini to be a little more understanding. He also tells her that he saw Nayanika leaving the house and suggests that she may have had some personal work.
Meanwhile, Shreya questions Nayanika about where she went.
Nayanika replies that she went to perform a puja.
Shreya finds the explanation suspicious and asks why Nayanika suddenly decided to perform a puja and whom it was for.
Indrani openly calls Nayanika a liar.
Nayanika finally loses patience and says she does not deserve to be treated this way.
Jaya again demands an answer.
Nayanika then reveals that she performed the puja for Ishaan.
Shreya immediately asks whether Ujjaini knew about it.
Nayanika says they are free to tell Ujjaini everything. She then firmly warns them to stop troubling her.
The episode ends with Nayanika standing her ground despite the growing pressure from her family.

Sunidhi tells Nayanika that Ishaan’s condition has become critical and that he is also suffering from partial memory loss. Nayanika tells the Basu family that she will go to Ishaan whenever he is in trouble because she loves him. Grandpa is furious and orders her to leave the house.
