Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 18th August 2026 Written Update: Tulsi Defeats Tripti in Chess as Samaira-Sid Alliance Faces a New Threat

The 18th August 2026 episode of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi brings another intense confrontation between Tulsi and Tripti, while Karan and Nandini struggle to understand what is best for Samaira. As Sid and Samaira continue hoping that their families will eventually accept their relationship, Tripti makes her intentions clear by declaring that Samaira will become her daughter-in-law. However, Tulsi refuses to let Tripti control the situation and gives her a strong warning through an intense game of chess.

Nandini Hides Her Pain From Sobha

The episode begins with Nandini on the verge of telling Sobha about the difficult situation surrounding Samaira and Sid. However, she suddenly changes the topic and brings up Parth.

Nandini becomes emotional as she says that Parth left them far too early.

Sobha immediately understands what Nandini is feeling. Rather than forcing her to speak about something she is not ready to discuss, Sobha reassures her that they will face everything together.

She asks Nandini to remain patient and reminds her that things will eventually settle down.

Nandini is clearly carrying a tremendous emotional burden. She is already dealing with Samaira’s complicated relationship with Sid while still struggling with the painful memories surrounding Parth.

Garima Brings Samaira and Rounak Together

Later, Nandini tells Samaira that Garima has saved her.

Garima then asks Nandini to prepare cheese nachos for her, bringing a lighter moment into the tense atmosphere.

Rounak enters the kitchen, but he refuses to speak to Samaira.

Garima notices the tension between the siblings and decides that she cannot allow their misunderstanding to continue.

She takes Samaira along and tries to bring the two siblings together.

Samaira complains that Rounak has been gossiping about her and telling things to the family.

Rounak defends himself.

He explains that he was not trying to hurt his sister. He says he was only trying to protect her and was worried about what could happen to her because of the situation with Sid.

Garima asks them to stop fighting and hug each other.

Rounak tells Samaira that he never wanted to hurt Papa either. His intention was simply to protect her.

Nandini also joins them.

For a brief moment, the family’s tensions disappear, and the siblings share an emotional moment together.

The scene gives Nandini some much-needed relief amid the growing problems.

Vaishnavi Shares Her Happiness With Sobha

Meanwhile, Sobha speaks to Abhishek over the phone.

Just then, Vaishnavi arrives and asks whether Sobha has seen Kaki.

Sobha tells her that she has not seen Maa since morning.

The conversation then turns towards Vaishnavi’s life.

Vaishnavi happily tells Sobha that things are going well with Nakul.

Sobha understands how difficult Vaishnavi’s journey has been.

However, Vaishnavi explains that circumstances have changed now. She says she has become stronger and credits Kaki for giving her the courage to face difficult situations.

Sobha feels happy to see Vaishnavi in a better place.

Sobha Remains Worried About Tripti

The conversation eventually turns towards Samaira.

Sobha admits that she is worried about her.

She says she hopes Tripti will support Samaira.

However, Sobha immediately reminds Vaishnavi that Tripti has not changed.

She remembers Tripti’s previous actions and believes that there is a reason to remain cautious.

Vaishnavi feels that perhaps they are overthinking the situation.

She believes that circumstances are slowly changing and hopes Samaira will eventually find happiness.

Sobha remains unconvinced.

She tells Vaishnavi that she knows Tripti better than anyone and cannot simply forget what she has done in the past.

Sobha then prays for Samaira.

Vaishnavi encourages her to remain positive and reminds her that Kaki has always taught them to face difficult situations with courage.

Tripti Begins Her Next Game

Meanwhile, Tripti is playing chess with Sid.

Sid jokingly calls his mother a dangerous player.

He has no idea just how accurate his words are.

Just then, Tulsi arrives at Tripti’s house.

Sid opens the door and is surprised to see Tulsi.

Tripti welcomes Tulsi inside.

Sid asks Tulsi about Samaira, but Tulsi tells him that she has come to speak with his mother.

Tripti assures Sid that Tulsi will not do anything to her.

She even praises Sid for being a good son before sending him away so that she can speak privately with Tulsi.

Tripti Announces Samaira Will Become Her Bahu

Once Sid leaves, Tripti asks Tulsi to play chess with her.

She says she enjoys playing games with Tulsi.

Tripti then begins discussing Sid and Samaira.

She claims that she had no idea Sid liked Samaira and says she was also shocked when she discovered their relationship.

However, Tripti insists that she is Sid’s mother and would never use her son for her own personal agenda.

Then comes her biggest declaration.

Tripti tells Tulsi that Samaira is going to become her bahu.

The statement makes her intentions very clear.

Tripti is not backing away from the alliance.

Instead, she appears confident that she can control the situation and bring Samaira into her family.

Karan Feels Completely Helpless

Elsewhere, Karan remains deeply troubled.

He tells Nandini that Subhash wants to meet him.

Karan feels that he has no real option left and cannot simply refuse to meet him.

Nandini asks Karan to think practically.

She reminds him that Samaira is their daughter and says they need to understand exactly what kind of person Sid is before allowing the relationship to move forward.

Nandini believes that Sid’s personality, family background and intentions need to be understood because Samaira’s entire future is involved.

Karan, however, feels trapped.

He tells Nandini that she cannot keep putting him in such an impossible position.

Tulsi and Tripti’s Dangerous Chess Match

The conversation between Tulsi and Tripti becomes increasingly intense.

Tripti directly asks Tulsi whether she is planning to take revenge on her by torturing Samaira.

She reminds Tulsi that she herself has been accused of torturing her daughters-in-law in the past.

Tulsi responds with an equally chilling statement.

She tells Tripti that there was a time when she would even kill people who crossed their limits.

The conversation becomes a battle of threats disguised as a chess game.

Tripti declares that she will kill Tulsi with her next move.

Tulsi calmly reminds her that this particular move is not happening for the first time.

Both women understand that they are not merely playing chess.

They are testing each other’s patience, intelligence and determination.

Karan Gives Up on Fighting Samaira’s Decision

Meanwhile, Nandini continues trying to convince Karan that they should investigate Sid.

Karan refuses.

He feels there is no point in making further inquiries because Samaira has already made up her mind.

He says that whatever is destined to happen will happen.

Karan becomes emotional and says that perhaps he is now being punished simply for being a parent.

Nandini tries to make him understand that children cannot always live according to their parents’ wishes.

Karan argues that children have not experienced enough of life to understand its realities.

Nandini, however, takes a different position.

She tells Karan that Samaira deserves the opportunity to live her own life and make her own decisions.

The conversation highlights the growing difference between Karan’s protective instincts and Nandini’s understanding of Samaira’s desire for independence.

Tulsi Wins the Chess Battle

Back at Tripti’s house, the chess game reaches its decisive moment.

Tripti tries desperately to protect her king.

However, Tulsi makes a powerful move and defeats Tripti’s king.

Tripti is left stunned.

Tulsi then tells her that she has become overconfident.

She gives Tripti a clear warning.

Tulsi reminds her that life is not a chess game and family members are not pawns who can simply be moved around according to someone’s strategy.

She advises Tripti to be careful about the moves she makes because this time she may not be able to control the consequences.

Tripti is furious after losing the game.

The defeat may only be symbolic for now, but Tulsi’s warning suggests that she has no intention of allowing Tripti to destroy Samaira’s future.

The episode ends with the rivalry between the two women becoming even more intense.

Episode Review

This episode works particularly well because the Tulsi-Tripti confrontation carries the main suspense, while the family scenes give the story an emotional balance.

The chess sequence is easily the highlight. Tripti believes she is always several moves ahead, but Tulsi’s calmness makes it clear that she understands the game just as well. Her dialogue about families not being pawns is particularly effective because it directly attacks Tripti’s habit of manipulating people.

Karan and Nandini’s conversation also adds emotional depth. Karan is understandably terrified after everything that has happened with Samaira, especially because she had already taken an extreme step earlier. His helplessness as a father feels believable. Nandini, meanwhile, understands that protecting a child does not always mean controlling their choices.

Samaira and Rounak’s patch-up is another welcome moment. Their argument could easily have become another prolonged family conflict, but Garima stepping in and forcing them to communicate gives the episode a warmer touch.

The biggest question now is whether Tripti genuinely intends to accept Samaira as her bahu or is simply setting another trap. Given her history, Tulsi has every reason to remain suspicious.

The precap also keeps the suspense alive as Sid’s family drama continues to collide with Karan’s concerns.

Rating: 4.3/5
