Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 21st August 2026 Written Update: Sid-Samaira’s Engagement Leaves Karan Emotional

The episode begins with the engagement celebrations of Sid and Samaira, as both families come together to mark the special occasion with traditional Bengali rituals. The atmosphere is filled with excitement as everyone prepares to celebrate the couple’s new beginning. The family members participate in the ceremonies and try to make the engagement memorable for Sid and Samaira.

However, Karan finds himself unable to enjoy the celebrations completely. Seeing his daughter take such an important step in her life leaves him overwhelmed with emotions. As the rituals begin, he asks Gautam to perform them on his behalf because he finds it difficult to personally participate while watching Samaira move ahead with Sid.

The Godh Bharai ritual takes place amid the celebrations, followed by the much-awaited ring ceremony. Sid and Samaira exchange rings as their families cheer for them. Everyone around them is happy, but Karan silently watches the couple. His emotional state becomes increasingly difficult to hide.

Tulsi notices Karan’s pain and tries to console him. She understands that watching his daughter begin this new chapter is not easy for him, even though he has accepted her decision. Karan, however, struggles to control his emotions and does not seem ready to talk about what he is feeling.

Tripti then approaches Karan and tries to change his mood by asking him to dance. Tulsi also agrees to join the celebrations, helping shift everyone’s attention towards the performances.

Soon, Raunak and Garima deliver a wonderful dance performance. Their energetic performance brings some much-needed cheer to the gathering, and the family members enjoy watching them. The celebrations become livelier as everyone gets involved in the festivities.

Later, Damini encourages Vaishnavi and Nakul to come forward and perform. The two join the celebrations, and before long, they bring Sid and Samaira onto the stage as well.

The newly engaged couple joins them for a romantic dance performance. Sid and Samaira look extremely happy as they celebrate their engagement in front of their loved ones. Their chemistry and excitement add another beautiful moment to the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Nakul and Vaishnavi also share a sweet moment during their performance. Nakul pampers Vaishnavi, and when she is about to fall, he immediately saves her. The unexpected moment brings them closer and creates a tender moment between the two.

Their chemistry does not escape Shobha’s attention. She soon interrupts them and playfully teases the couple. Nakul quickly tries to handle the situation by pretending that Vaishnavi was actually the one being romantic with him.

His innocent excuse leaves Shobha amused. The light-hearted exchange brings smiles to the family members and adds another sweet moment to the engagement celebrations.

While everyone continues enjoying the music and festivities, Karan remains emotionally disturbed. No matter how hard he tries to appear normal, seeing Samaira happy with Sid continues to affect him. He knows that she has chosen her future, and he wants to support her, but accepting that his daughter is moving away from him emotionally is proving difficult.

Later, Karan finds himself standing at a distance while Samaira happily speaks to someone on the phone. Her laughter and happiness make him emotional. He watches her quietly, and tears begin to appear in his eyes.

Samaira notices him and immediately becomes concerned. She asks Karan what has happened.

Karan gently reassures her that there is nothing wrong. He tells her that the tears in his eyes are tears of happiness.

He then opens up about the emotional side of fatherhood. Karan explains that mothers are often able to express their love openly, while fathers frequently keep their emotions hidden. A father may not always say what he feels or openly display his affection, but that does not mean his love is any less.

He explains that fathers often consider themselves the foundation of the family. Because they believe they have to remain strong for everyone else, they suppress their own vulnerability and quietly carry their emotions.

His words leave Samaira emotional.

For Karan, the engagement is therefore not simply a celebration. It is also a moment of realization. His daughter is beginning a new chapter, and while he wants to see her happy, a part of him is struggling to accept how quickly she is growing up and moving towards a life of her own.

The episode ends on this emotional note, with the celebrations continuing around Karan while his heart remains overwhelmed by the bittersweet feeling of watching his daughter step into her future.

Precap

Drama unfolds over Mihir’s whereabouts. Tripti confronts Karan and demands to know where Mihir is. She then turns her attention towards Tulsi and taunts her, questioning whether she genuinely has no idea about Mihir’s whereabouts. Tripti insists that if Mihir is missing, the family must immediately start looking for him.

Review

The engagement track works because the episode understands that a family celebration does not have to mean everyone is emotionally carefree. There is plenty of music, romance and happiness, but Karan’s emotions quietly give the festivities a bittersweet layer. That contrast makes the celebration feel warmer rather than turning it into just another elaborate function.

Karan’s conversation with Samaira is easily the emotional heart of the episode. His thoughts about fathers hiding their emotions are simple but effective, particularly because he is trying to accept something every parent eventually has to face: loving a child also means learning to let them make their own choices. The scene gives the engagement an emotional purpose beyond the rituals and performances.

The lighter moments involving Nakul and Vaishnavi also work nicely as a counterbalance. Their chemistry brings some warmth to the episode without overwhelming the central emotional track. And Nakul’s attempt to escape Shobha’s teasing deserves a little credit—sometimes the fastest way out of an awkward romantic moment is simply to blame the romance on the other person.

The precap, meanwhile, immediately changes the mood. After an episode dominated by engagement celebrations and emotional family moments, Mihir’s disappearance introduces a fresh mystery. The celebration may be over, but clearly the family drama has no intention of taking a day off.

Rating: 4/5

Episode Quote

“A father may hide his tears behind a smile, but when a child begins a new journey, even the strongest heart quietly learns what it means to let go.”
