Anupama 23rd August 2026 Written Update: Prem Confronts Vasundhara as Anupama’s Taste Becomes Her Biggest Challenge
The episode begins with Gautam commenting that Anupama had a lot to say, while Vasundhara remains visibly irritated by Anupama’s firm rejection. She says that she only heard one thing from Anupama—“no.” Despite offering land and additional money, Vasundhara could not convince her to step away from the competition.
Vasundhara fumes that Anupama cannot win and makes her determination clear that she will not allow Anupama to emerge victorious. Khyati notices Vasundhara and Gautam together and becomes confused about what they are discussing. Vasundhara, however, tries to brush everything aside. She remarks that even the tea is too sweet and threatens to spoil her mood further.
Gautam, meanwhile, starts working on another plan.
Elsewhere, Anupama tastes the food and immediately begins pointing out the improvements Banku needs to make. Prerna, Banku and Ishani look surprised by her reaction.
Anupama smiles and tells them that they should not look so shocked. She says that she has received a blessing from God because her taste buds are perfectly fine. She confidently praises her own ability to judge food.
Digvijay reminds her that tasting is practically her superpower.
Anupama happily agrees.
But while Anupama is feeling confident about her ability to compete, another storm is brewing in the Shah family circle.
Gautam tells Vasundhara that his idea will ensure Prem wins. Prem, however, is already questioning how he can win when Anupama rejected Vasundhara’s offer.
Vasundhara is stunned.
Rahi immediately asks Prem to calm down, but Prem stops her from interrupting. He directly confronts Vasundhara about approaching Anupama with money and land. He asks her how she could make such an offer if she truly believes in him.
Vasundhara insists that she knows Prem is not a loser.
Prem fires back that if she really believed in his talent, she would never have felt the need to pay Anupama to lose.
Khyati also questions Vasundhara and asks whether she was actually trying to bribe Anupama. Meeta immediately asks how much money was involved, prompting Anil to sarcastically question whether that is really what she wants to know in the middle of such a serious situation.
Meanwhile, Anupama continues thinking about Vasundhara’s proposal. Digvijay stands firmly by her side and encourages her to focus on her future.
Anupama says Prem is hardworking and talented and deserves to win through his own ability.
Gautam tries to justify Vasundhara’s actions to Prem. He explains that Vasundhara was worried because Shruti was already concerned about the café’s losses, which is why she tried to negotiate with Anupama.
But Prem is not ready to accept the explanation.
He says that he is willing to lose.
Vasundhara insists that she was simply trying to make a deal with Anupama, but Prem feels that the deal itself proves that his mother did not trust his talent.
He breaks down emotionally and begins feeling that because of Anupama, he has already lost.
Khyati and Anil take Prem’s side and question Vasundhara’s decision. Anil asks her how she could believe that Anupama would compromise her principles for money.
Rahi and Khyati try to encourage Prem to stop worrying and concentrate on the finale. Prem, however, feels that Anupama must be laughing at him after everything that has happened.
Rahi and Khyati remind him that he still has the competition ahead of him and should focus on winning.
Prem asks them to stop supporting him.
Vasundhara begins regretting the emotional damage her decision has caused her son.
Rahi then turns the situation around. She reminds Vasundhara that Prem had initially entered the competition with the determination to defeat Anupama. Now, however, he has another reason to fight. He can compete purely for his own victory.
Rahi subtly signals Gautam, who continues manipulating Vasundhara’s emotions.
Khyati also supports Vasundhara and encourages her to join them for the finale.
Gautam assures Vasundhara that she has done nothing wrong.
At the same time, Anupama continues thinking about Rahi.
Rahi meets Anupama and clarifies an important point. She tells her that Prem had no idea about the offer Vasundhara made to Anupama.
Rahi makes it clear that Prem was completely unaware of the deal.
Anupama listens quietly and says that she understands.
Meanwhile, Paritosh arrives with the dish prepared by Mantu and insists that Anupama taste it. Anupama agrees and eats the food.
Something feels different.
She suddenly feels a strange chill.
Paritosh then secretly tells Gautam that he has done what he was supposed to do and asks him to transfer the money.
The truth becomes clear—Paritosh has accepted Gautam’s offer.
Paritosh thinks about how Anupama has repeatedly insulted him while choosing to stand up for other people. He feels that he cannot continue making sacrifices like her and justifies accepting the money.
For Paritosh, this is his chance to get something in return.
But he has no idea how dangerous the consequences of his decision may become.
Anupama, meanwhile, has no idea that the food she has just tasted may have changed everything for her.
The episode ends on a disturbing note as the finale approaches and the people around Anupama continue making secret moves against her.
Review
This episode does a good job of shifting the conflict from a simple competition rivalry into something much more personal. Prem’s confrontation with Vasundhara is easily the strongest emotional beat because his anger is not really about losing—it is about realizing that the person who should have believed in him was already preparing for his defeat.
Anupama, meanwhile, remains consistent with her principles, and that makes her refusal of Vasundhara’s offer feel meaningful rather than dramatic for the sake of it. Her confidence about her talent also gives the episode a nice spark. She knows exactly what she brings to the table—and apparently, she knows what belongs on the table too.
The Paritosh angle adds another layer of betrayal. His decision to accept Gautam’s money is not just a financial choice; it comes from years of resentment, which makes his action more believable even though it is deeply questionable. The man has apparently decided that if family drama is going to be expensive, he might as well send himself the invoice.
The biggest concern, however, is the food track. Anupama suddenly feeling chilly after eating it makes the finale look far more dangerous than a normal cooking competition. The precap raises the stakes even further, suggesting that Anupama may suddenly withdraw from the competition. Whether this is a temporary setback or part of a larger plan remains the big question.
