Anupama 31st August 2026 Written Update: Prem Realizes His Mistake, Shruti Takes A Shocking Decision About Anuj’s Café
The latest episode of Anupama brings an emotional change in Prem as he finally realizes where he went wrong. After losing the finale against Anupama, Prem initially struggles to accept the result. However, his own alter ego forces him to confront the truth and reminds him that Anupama was never his real enemy. She simply performed better when it mattered most.
At the same time, Rakshabandhan preparations begin at the Shah house, bringing old memories, family emotions and yet another argument over money. Meanwhile, Shruti remains hurt and angry over the finale result and appears ready to take a major decision regarding Anuj’s café.
Prem Finally Accepts His Defeat
The episode begins with Prem remembering the challenge he threw at Anupama. He had been extremely confident that he could defeat her, but the reality of the finale has now started sinking in.
His alter ego gives him a much-needed reality check. He makes Prem understand that Anupama was not wrong and that Prem’s own ego prevented him from seeing the truth.
Prem breaks down as he realizes how his attitude changed him.
Rahi stays beside him and comforts him through the difficult moment. She understands that Prem is not simply dealing with a competition loss. He is also confronting his own mistakes and the way he behaved with Anupama.
Anupama Talks About Rakshabandhan
Meanwhile, Anupama remembers Leela’s brother and starts discussing Rakshabandhan with the family.
She points out an interesting contradiction in society. During marriage rituals, a woman is often told that she should not go anywhere without her husband’s permission. Yet when Rakshabandhan arrives, she can go to her brother’s house without needing anyone’s permission.
Anupama highlights how traditions can sometimes carry contradictory ideas.
Banku shares his childhood memory of celebrating Rakshabandhan with his sister and remembers giving her a lollipop. Jaya jokingly asks Banku for money so that she can get a lollipop too.
Digvijay then asks Jaya whether she will tie Rakhi to him. Jaya reveals that she has already made one for him because Anupama asked her to.
The conversation soon turns towards the family members who may or may not attend the celebration.
Prerna tells Ishani that Ansh may not be able to come because he is stuck somewhere. Ishani becomes upset.
Anupama explains that today’s world has become much faster. Even when people are physically far away, video calls make them feel close, while instant deliveries make sending gifts easier than ever.
Kinjal asks whether Bhavesh will come. Anupama confidently says that Bhavesh never misses Rakshabandhan.
Leela, however, says that Bailu is old and does not travel much anymore, so he probably will not come.
Then Jaya asks whether Pari and Rahi will join the celebration, leaving the Shahs shocked.
Prem Learns That Anupama Praised Him
Rahi continues supporting Prem as he struggles emotionally.
Gautam then shows them Anupama’s interview. Prem is surprised when he hears Anupama praising him despite their fierce competition.
This makes him realize something important.
Paritosh had apparently told Gautam that Anupama had spoken negatively about Prem, but Anupama’s actual words prove otherwise.
Anil appreciates Gautam for saying the right things, while Vasundhara, Khyati and Rahi encourage Prem to stop dwelling on the past and move forward.
But Shruti refuses to let go so easily.
Shruti Blames Anupama For The Finale Result
Shruti remains convinced that Anupama influenced the situation.
She blames Anupama for the result and decides that she will take legal action against the makers, believing that the judges made the wrong decision because of Anupama’s influence.
Prem, however, begins seeing the situation differently.
He accepts that his ego got the better of him. He realizes that Anupama was simply fighting to win, while he allowed his pride to turn the competition into something personal.
For Prem, this realization becomes more important than the trophy itself.
Khyati tells him that in a way, he has won because he has finally understood his mistake and accepted the truth.
Prem Apologizes To Rahi
Prem then apologizes to Rahi for putting her in an impossible situation.
He had previously asked her to choose between him and Anupama, but he now understands how unfair that was.
Rahi responds by confessing her love for him.
Vasundhara, Rahi and Khyati embrace Prem as he finally lets go of the anger and resentment that had consumed him.
The emotional reconciliation marks a major change in Prem’s attitude.
Prem Also Apologizes To Shruti
Prem does not stop there.
He apologizes to Shruti as well. He admits that Shruti trusted him, yet he repeatedly behaved badly with her.

He tells her that whatever decision she makes regarding Anuj’s café, he will accept it.
Vasundhara then decides to return the money Shruti invested in the café. She wants the café to remain with Prem and Rahi.
But Prem refuses to depend on Vasundhara financially.
He tells her that he wants to stand on his own feet and earn his position himself. He therefore refuses her money and makes it clear that Shruti’s decision about the café will be respected.

Paritosh And Pakhi Demand Their Share
Back at the Shah house, the mood changes completely when Paritosh starts demanding his share of the prize money.
He asks Anupama to distribute the money.
Mahi then enters and reminds everyone that Anupama had promised she would receive her share because she contributed to taking the team to the finale.
Pakhi and Paritosh immediately oppose her.
They refuse to give Mahi anything and even call her greedy and a beggar.
Mahi refuses to stay quiet and argues back.
Then Leela unexpectedly demands her share as well.
Anupama watches the situation unfold and realizes something painful: when money enters a relationship, relationships can suddenly become secondary.
The argument grows further when Paritosh demands Kinjal’s share.

Ishani also refuses to take the money.
