Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan Episode Review: Durgavati Stands by Sneha as Sahana Faces Cruel Judgement

This episode beautifully balances family support, social prejudice and romantic emotions, with Durgavati and Ganga taking contrasting but equally emotional stands for the women they love.

Durgavati’s decision to stand by Sneha is the episode’s biggest emotional development. Her telling Ganga that Sneha is now her responsibility shows how much her relationship with her bahu has changed. Instead of judging Sneha for her mistakes, Durgavati chooses to understand her. Ganga’s tears of relief make the moment even more touching, especially because she knows Sneha will be cared for.

Siddhu’s continued devotion to Sneha also works well here. His excitement about the baby and his affectionate behaviour show how deeply he has emotionally invested in the future he believes they are building. Sneha, meanwhile, is increasingly determined to fulfil his dream of becoming a father. That makes her decision to eventually have a baby feel less like a simple romantic choice and more like an attempt to protect the happiness she has created around the pregnancy lie.

The Sahana track delivers the episode’s strongest social message. Nirmala calling Sahana unlucky simply because her marriage has ended is cruel, outdated and exactly the kind of stigma Ganga refuses to tolerate. Ganga’s immediate defence of Sahana is powerful because she doesn’t allow the village women to reduce her daughter to her marital status. Sahana herself saying she knows she isn’t unlucky shows that she is slowly rebuilding her confidence.

Murli’s drunken state adds another emotional dimension. His repeated plea for Sahana’s forgiveness shows that guilt has consumed him, but Siddhu wisely avoids dragging him back to Ganga’s house. Murli now needs to prove his repentance through patience and changed behaviour rather than emotional pressure.

The lighter Siddhu-Sneha moments provide some relief from the heavier tracks. His playful affection, helping her walk carefully and secretly planning to surprise her with the framed sonography picture show how happy he is about becoming a father. Unfortunately, Purvi witnessing their closeness only fuels her jealousy.

Overall, the episode succeeds because Sahana’s pain and Sneha’s secret are moving in opposite directions—one woman is learning to live without her marriage, while the other is desperately trying to preserve the future she has promised her husband.

Rating: 4.7/5

Ganga fights society for Sahana, Durgavati protects Sneha—and Sneha is quietly preparing to take the biggest step of her life.
