Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan Episode Review: Sahana Starts a New Life as Murli Finally Signs the Divorce Papers
This episode delivers the emotional closure Sahana’s track needed, while also making it clear that ending a marriage does not magically erase the pain attached to it. Sahana finally signs the divorce papers, but the episode wisely allows her to grieve rather than portraying her decision as an effortless victory.
The most powerful part is Sneha’s response when someone compares Sahana’s situation with her own marriage. Her explanation draws an important distinction: Sneha forgave Siddhu because he trusted her, respected her choices and never questioned her character. That is precisely what Sahana did not receive from Murli. The comparison therefore becomes a strong defence of Sahana’s right to make her own decision rather than an attempt to put the two marriages on the same scale.
Murli’s desperation, including his threat to harm himself, is disturbing but dramatically effective in showing how unwilling he is to accept that Sahana has moved beyond the relationship. Thankfully, Siddhu and Shekhar intervene, while Sneha correctly calls out Murli for trying to make his emotional crisis Sahana’s responsibility.
Durgavati’s acceptance of Sahana’s decision is another major payoff. She initially wanted to give Murli a fair chance, but after hearing Sahana’s complete story, she chooses to respect her daughter-in-law’s decision. Asking Murli to sign the papers makes the separation official, while Sahana’s tears show that choosing herself does not mean she feels nothing.
The sindoor moment is especially poignant. Sahana placing it in the tulsi plant and praying for Murli to find the strength to move on shows that she is not leaving with hatred. She is simply accepting that their relationship has reached its end.
The homecoming celebration adds a surprisingly warm contrast. Soni, Paras, Sneha, Siddhu and Ganga choosing to celebrate Sahana’s new beginning reinforces the idea that divorce does not have to mean the end of a woman’s life.
There are also two useful suspense threads. Purvi is still determined to expose Sneha and Madhu, while Siddhu’s decision to sign Vinay’s papers without properly checking them could become a serious mistake.
Overall, this is an emotionally satisfying episode that gives Sahana closure, agency and a genuine new beginning, while leaving enough unresolved secrets to keep the story moving.
Rating: 4.9/5
Sahana lost a marriage, but she didn’t lose herself. And that is the real victory of this track.
