Yaadein 17th October 2026 Written Update: Dev and Shristi Dance Together as Mallar Plans to Propose to Jia
Villagers Celebrate Navratri Together
The episode begins with the villagers coming together to celebrate Navratri. With the festive spirit filling the atmosphere, Meena warns the men not to get into arguments with the women. She reminds them that if they upset the women, they might refuse to bring the Kalash for the religious ceremony.
Malon Ji and the other men agree to her warning. Pushkar then suggests that everyone should use the auspicious occasion of Navratri to make a fresh start and leave their disagreements behind. The others agree, hoping to maintain peace during the celebrations.
The women bring their Kalash and place them in front of Maata Rani, marking the beginning of the religious rituals. Suhasini asks Dev and Shristi to seek Maata Rani’s blessings, and both follow her instructions.
The celebrations take an unexpected turn when Masaan Baba arrives at the venue. He is shocked to see Shristi looking at Maata Rani. The sight appears to bring him out of his trance, and he approaches the deity.
Masaan Baba announces that it is time for the Aarti. A villager steps forward and performs the ritual in front of Maata Rani as everyone gathers for the worship.
The Navratri celebrations bring the villagers together, but beneath the festive atmosphere, several personal conflicts remain unresolved. Jia is dealing with her feelings for Mallar, while Dev and Shristi continue to struggle with the complicated circumstances surrounding their relationship.
Jia Becomes Upset on Seeing Miliya
During the celebrations, Jia looks at Mallar, and he looks back at her. Their exchange catches the attention of the moment, suggesting that Mallar is still hopeful about winning Jia’s affection.
Later, Jia notices Miliya and becomes upset. Mallar observes her reaction and understands that Miliya’s presence is troubling her.
Mallar decides to intervene. He approaches Miliya and tells him to leave, making it clear that he cannot stay there. Miliya questions why he should go, refusing to accept Mallar’s demand without an explanation.
Mallar reminds him that he has misbehaved with a girl in the past and warns him not to repeat such behaviour. His words make it clear that he does not want Miliya to make anyone uncomfortable or feel unsafe.
Miliya responds with a threat, warning that he will hit Mallar with a rock. Mallar refuses to back down. He picks up a rock himself and challenges Miliya to carry out his threat before ordering him to leave.
Faced with Mallar’s determination, Miliya eventually walks away.
Mallar’s intervention shows that he is willing to stand up to Miliya, particularly after noticing Jia’s discomfort. His actions may also give Jia another reason to notice him, as he has stepped forward when she appears troubled.
Mallar and Jia Pray for Different Wishes
After the confrontation, Mallar turns to Maata Rani and prays that he will win Jia’s heart. He hopes that his feelings will eventually be returned and that Jia will accept him.
Jia, meanwhile, has a different wish. She prays that Dev and Shristi will reunite.
Her prayer reveals where her heart lies. Even as Mallar hopes to build a romantic relationship with her, Jia remains concerned about Dev and Shristi’s future together. She wants them to overcome their differences and find their way back to each other.
The contrast between their prayers highlights the complications in their relationships. Mallar is focused on winning Jia, but Jia’s thoughts are occupied by the possibility of Dev and Shristi getting back together.
Dev and Shristi Join the Garba Celebrations
Later, Meena invites Dev and Shristi to participate in Garba after the pooja. Dev is surprised by the suggestion and asks whether people in the village perform Garba.
Meena explains that the villagers have started playing Garba after watching it on television. Her response gives Dev a glimpse of how the festive tradition has become part of their celebrations.
When Dev notices Mallar approaching, he considers avoiding the dance. He appears reluctant to take part, perhaps preferring to stay away from another potentially uncomfortable encounter.
Shristi, though, decides to participate. She tells Dev that she will join the Garba while he can keep an eye on Jia.
Their decision brings them into the heart of the Navratri celebrations, creating an opportunity for the characters to interact in a different setting. The festive atmosphere also brings Dev and Shristi closer, even as Shristi continues to insist that she has not returned for her own sake.
Mishri Joins Garba Despite Meena’s Concerns
Meanwhile, Mishri asks Meena for permission to participate in Garba. Meena refuses, indicating that she is concerned about allowing Mishri to join the dancing.
Mishri does not give up easily. She approaches Shristi and asks her to convince Meena to change her mind.
Shristi advises Mishri to be careful while dancing. She tells her to move to a corner if she starts feeling dizzy, making sure that Mishri understands the importance of not pushing herself too hard.
Mishri agrees to follow the advice and joins the other villagers for Garba.
Her participation adds to the festive atmosphere, while Shristi’s warning shows that she wants Mishri to enjoy herself without ignoring her well-being.
Mallar Dances With Jia, but Dev Changes Partners
As the Garba celebrations continue, Mallar approaches Jia and begins dancing with her. He appears pleased to have the opportunity to spend time with her, and the dance gives him a chance to express his interest.
At the same time, Dev dances with Shristi. Their participation brings them together on the dance floor, creating another moment of closeness between them.
The situation changes when Dev notices Mallar dancing with Jia. Dev approaches Mallar and suggests that they change partners. He then begins dancing with Jia instead.
The unexpected switch alters the dynamic between the four characters. Mallar loses his opportunity to continue dancing with Jia, while Dev takes his place beside her.
The moment also adds another layer to the complicated relationships. Jia has been praying for Dev and Shristi to reunite, yet Dev’s decision to dance with her changes the situation on the dance floor. Mallar, who has been trying to win Jia’s affection, is left to find another partner.
Mallar Tells Srijha He Has Not Lost the Bet
Mallar later dances Garba with Srijha. During their conversation, Srijha asks him how he can remain so happy despite losing the bet.
Mallar refuses to accept that he has lost. He reveals that he has managed to obtain Jia’s phone number and believes this will help him eventually win her heart.
His confidence suggests that he sees getting Jia’s number as a step towards achieving his goal. He remains convinced that he still has a chance with her, despite the complications surrounding her feelings and his recent attempts to get closer to her.
Srijha is upset by Mallar’s words and walks away.
Mallar’s determination may be encouraging to him, but his confidence does not necessarily mean Jia shares his feelings. His belief that he can win her over could lead to further complications if he fails to understand what she truly wants.
Masaan Baba Plans to Separate Dev and Shristi
Elsewhere, Masaan Baba notices Dev dancing with Shristi. The sight troubles him, and he vows to ensure that they leave the village before Navratri ends.
His decision introduces a fresh threat to Dev and Shristi’s already complicated situation. While the two of them are finding moments of closeness during the celebrations, Masaan Baba is determined to prevent them from staying together in the village.
His reaction also suggests that Dev and Shristi’s reunion is not something everyone is willing to accept. Even as they attempt to reconnect, forces around them may be working to keep them apart.
Vandana Gives Mallar a Difficult Task
Meanwhile, Mallar begins thinking about calling Jia. His attention remains fixed on her, and he appears eager to take another step towards winning her heart.
Vandana notices that Mallar is looking at his phone instead of concentrating on his work. She questions him about his distraction.
Mallar responds that he is thinking about doing something big. His answer does little to reassure her, as his thoughts seem far removed from his responsibilities.
Malon Ji arrives and asks when Mallar will finally accomplish something significant. He makes sarcastic remarks about Mallar, questioning when he will prove himself.
Vandana steps in and assures Malon Ji that Mallar will do something immediately. She then brings him a basket of beans and orders him to peel all of them within half an hour.
She warns Mallar that if he fails to complete the task within the allotted time, he will not receive food for seven days. Her strict condition leaves him with little choice but to get to work.
Mallar makes a sarcastic remark about Vandana before starting the task. His response shows that he is not particularly pleased with the situation, especially when his thoughts are occupied by Jia.
The task creates another obstacle for Mallar, who wants to focus on his romantic plans but is forced to deal with the demands placed on him at home.
Dev Tries to Convince Shristi About Their Destiny
Later, Shristi reflects on the day’s events and says that everything went really well. Dev thanks her for standing by him, admitting that he does not know how he would have managed everything without her support.
His words reveal how much he values Shristi’s presence. Despite the uncertainty between them, he recognises the role she has played in helping him through the situation.
Shristi, however, reminds Dev that she came there for Jia and not because she wanted to return of her own free will.
She is determined to make her intentions clear. Although she has been spending time with Dev, she does not want him to assume that her presence means she has decided to reunite with him.
Dev responds by recalling their college days. He reminds Shristi that she used to say that when things did not happen according to their wishes, it was because of God’s will.
Using her own words, Dev suggests that she should consider their present circumstances a sign from God that they are right for each other.
His argument is an attempt to make Shristi reconsider their relationship. He wants her to see their current situation not as a coincidence, but as an opportunity to acknowledge the bond they still share.
Shristi’s response remains uncertain as the episode ends. Dev has made his feelings clear, but whether she is ready to accept his reasoning remains to be seen.
Precap: Mallar Proposes to Jia
In the upcoming episode, Mallar finally takes a bold step and proposes to Jia.
His confidence comes as no surprise after he reveals that he has obtained her phone number and believes he can win her heart. Jia, though, reacts unexpectedly by slapping him.
Her response leaves Mallar facing a harsh reality. His hopes of winning Jia’s affection may not match her feelings, and the proposal could change their relationship dramatically.
Review
The episode uses the Navratri celebrations to bring the characters together while moving several relationship conflicts forward. Mallar’s intervention when Miliya threatens him gives him a moment to stand up for Jia, but his growing confidence about winning her heart may be misplaced. Obtaining her phone number is a step in his mind, yet it does not guarantee that she will return his feelings.
Dev and Shristi’s Garba sequence adds warmth to their storyline. Dev’s attempt to use Shristi’s own past words to convince her that they belong together is emotionally revealing. Still, Shristi continues to insist that she came for Jia, so Dev will need more than a reminder of their college days to resolve their differences.
Masaan Baba’s vow to send them away before Navratri ends adds suspense, suggesting that their growing closeness could face another challenge. Mallar’s household troubles provide a lighter contrast, even as Vandana’s strict punishment threatens to derail his plans.
The precap delivers the episode’s sharpest twist. Mallar expects his proposal to move him closer to Jia, but her slap suggests that he has seriously misread the situation. His next reaction will be crucial in determining whether he respects her feelings or makes matters worse.
