Anupama 21st October 2026 Written Update: Anupama Defends Prerna as Ansh Clashes With Her Over Pranshi
The 21st October 2026 episode of Anupama focuses on the growing tension between Ansh and Prerna over the responsibility of raising Pranshi. When a small mistake involving hot milk triggers a family argument, Prerna feels unsupported and breaks down emotionally. Anupama steps in to defend her and reminds the Shahs that raising a child is a shared responsibility. Meanwhile, RV faces questions about his intentions towards Anupama, and Digvijay returns to the café, leaving Anupama and Hasmuk concerned.
Anupama Stops Prerna From Giving Pranshi Hot Milk
The episode begins with Prerna taking care of Pranshi. Leela brings hot milk for the little girl and reminds Prerna to be careful. As Prerna prepares to give Pranshi the milk, Anupama intervenes and stops her.
Prerna immediately apologises. Anupama explains that when a small child is involved, there is no room for carelessness. Leela adds that she had already warned Prerna about the milk being hot.
Instead of helping Prerna through the situation, Paritosh and Pakhi begin gaslighting her. Anupama also lectures Prerna about being careful while looking after a child, leaving Prerna feeling as though everyone is blaming her.
Prerna becomes emotional. She wonders why her efforts to adjust her routine according to Pranshi’s needs are being overlooked. She admits that she has no prior experience caring for Pranshi, yet she is doing her best to manage everything.
Prerna reminds Anupama that everyone had promised to support her in looking after the child. In reality, the family members leave for work and return home late, leaving her to manage much of the responsibility.
Anupama tries to understand Prerna’s frustration, but the tension continues to build.
Prerna and Ansh Fight Over Pranshi’s Care
The situation takes another turn when Prerna shouts at Ansh. Ansh confronts her for speaking rudely to Anupama, while Leela points out that Prerna has also shouted at her and Hasmuk.
Ansh becomes furious, and Anupama tries to calm both of them down. Prerna, though, does not want Anupama to defend her or explain her behaviour. She tells Anupama to stop speaking on her behalf, insisting that she can fight her own battles.
The argument between Ansh and Prerna soon returns to the question of who should take responsibility for Pranshi.
Ansh declares that nobody will give Prerna any work related to Pranshi anymore. He goes further and says that Pranshi means nothing to Prerna.
Anupama immediately takes Prerna’s side and scolds Ansh for his harsh words. Ansh argues that Prerna herself has described caring for Pranshi as work.
Anupama explains that raising a child is a job in itself. Caring for a baby requires time, patience, effort, and constant attention, and Prerna should not be judged simply because she is struggling to adjust.
Prerna, however, asks Anupama not to take her side. She points out that Anupama is suddenly treating her like Pranshi’s stepmother, making the situation even more uncomfortable for her.
Pakhi and Paritosh reinforce the point by insisting that Prerna is only Pranshi’s stepmother. Anupama loses her patience and tells them both to shut their mouths.
Anupama Reminds the Shahs of Their Promise
Anupama asks Ansh to understand that becoming a mother is new for Prerna too. Instead of criticising her at every step, the family needs to give her time to learn and adjust.
Ansh and Prerna continue avoiding each other, showing how deeply the argument has affected their relationship.
Anupama reminds everyone that they had promised to take care of Pranshi together. She refuses to let the entire responsibility fall on one person and decides to distribute the work among the Shah family members.
The discussion becomes more complicated when Pakhi and Paritosh point out that Ansh and Prerna will soon move into their new house. They question how the couple will manage Pranshi there if they are already struggling with their responsibilities in the Shah household.
Anupama asks Ansh and Prerna to make a promise before anything else: they must stop fighting and commit to looking after Pranshi together.
Her decision highlights the real problem within the family. Everyone has expectations, but the responsibility of caring for a child cannot be handled through accusations and arguments. Anupama wants Ansh and Prerna to work as a team rather than turn Pranshi’s needs into a reason for constant conflict.
Whether they can put aside their differences and honour that promise remains to be seen.
Anil Questions RV About His Intentions
Elsewhere, Anil advises RV to stop troubling Anupama. Vasundhara immediately objects to Anil taking Anupama’s side.
RV insists that he is not harming Anupama. Anil warns him that he should not even think about doing so, prompting RV to question whether Anil is threatening him.
Vasundhara tells Anil not to speak to RV in such a tone, reminding him that RV is a guest.
RV agrees with Vasundhara and remarks that Anupama appears to have supporters everywhere.
The exchange exposes the growing disagreement within the family over RV’s intentions. While Anil wants him to stay away from Anupama, RV refuses to accept that he is doing anything wrong. Vasundhara, meanwhile, continues to defend him.
With Anupama already dealing with problems at home and the café, the question of RV’s next move adds another layer of uncertainty.
Anupama Feels the Pressure of Managing Everything
Later, Anupama speaks to Hasmuk about how she is managing everything alone. Between the responsibilities at home, the family disagreements, and the problems surrounding her café, she is struggling to keep everything under control.
Her conversation with Hasmuk reflects the pressure she is carrying while trying to support everyone else. Although she encourages the Shahs to share responsibilities, she continues to find herself at the centre of their conflicts.
Digvijay then returns to the café. Anupama and Hasmuk immediately ask him what happened, concerned by his return and wanting to understand the situation.
The episode ends with their questions unanswered, leaving Digvijay’s next revelation to unfold in the upcoming episode.
Precap
Mohanlal cuts off the electricity and water supply to Anupama’s café and house, leaving the Shahs worried. Anupama learns about his plan, while Gautam supports Mohanlal in troubling the Shah family.
Mohanlal taunts Anupama by asking what she wants: electricity, a water tanker, or a portable cooler. Anupama becomes furious at his attempt to control her through these basic necessities.
Review
The strongest part of this episode is Prerna’s emotional struggle. She is trying to care for Pranshi without much experience, yet the family seems quicker to criticise her than to acknowledge the pressure she faces. Anupama’s intervention is important because she recognises that childcare cannot become one person’s burden while everyone else simply offers opinions.
Ansh’s reaction is understandable as a response to Prerna’s outburst, but declaring that Pranshi means nothing to her only makes the conflict worse. Pakhi and Paritosh also contribute little beyond provoking the situation. The family needs a practical division of responsibilities, not another round of accusations.
The RV track provides a brief shift from the domestic drama, although Anil’s warning and RV’s response leave their conflict unresolved. The more interesting development comes in the precap, where Mohanlal escalates his intimidation by cutting off water and electricity.
Anupama now faces a challenge that requires more than standing up to someone verbally. She will need to protect her family and business while finding a way to counter Mohanlal’s control. The next episode promises a tougher test of her determination.
