Maati Se Bandhi Dor 23rd January 2025 Written Update. The episode begins with Vasundara and Ragini wallowing in guilt over not treating Vaiju well during her pregnancy. Honestly, the guilt trip feels about two episodes too late. Enter Sulekha, the queen of sugarcoated reassurances, telling them to stop blaming themselves for Vaiju’s loss. Of course, this pep talk does absolutely nothing, because guilt is the main character here.
Meanwhile, Vaiju arrives home alone, only to see Jaya basking in the glow of new-mom attention, holding baby Vayu. Vaiju stands awkwardly in the corner like she accidentally walked into someone else’s party. Everyone fawns over Jaya and Vayu as if Vaiju doesn’t exist. Jaya, in a moment of questionable sensitivity, calls Vaiju over and asks her to hold the baby. Vaiju hesitates, gives Ranvijay a wounded glance, and finally takes Vayu in her arms. Cue the dramatic emotional breakdown. But just as Vaiju starts to feel connected, Sulekha swoops in and snatches the baby away, handing him back to Jaya with a remark about “motherly warmth.” Subtlety? Never heard of her.
Vaiju, understandably hurt, storms off without a word. Ranvijay, suddenly the spokesperson for empathy, tells Sulekha to consider Vaiju’s feelings. But Sulekha seems too busy keeping up appearances to care. Meanwhile, Vaiju is in her room, clutching baby clothes and crying her heart out like she’s auditioning for the saddest music video ever. Enter Ranvijay, who tries his best to console her but fails spectacularly. Vaiju lashes out, accusing him of replacing Vayu’s mother and taking away her identity. Ouch. She delivers a monologue about the struggles of pregnancy and declares she can’t share a room with him anymore. Ranvijay, now the king of heartbreak, offers to leave. Classic “let’s add more drama” moment.
Later, Vaiju has another crying session with baby toys because apparently, one wasn’t enough. That night, Vayu starts crying inconsolably, giving the writers a perfect excuse to squeeze in another emotional scene. Jaya tries to calm him but fails miserably. Vaiju, struggling to stay away, finally rushes in like a superhero. The moment she takes Vayu in her arms, he stops crying. Of course, this sends shockwaves through the family. Sulekha, ever the commentator, makes an unnecessary remark about how unusual it is that the baby calmed down for Vaiju. But before anyone can connect the dots, Jaya snatches the baby back, declaring she’s perfectly capable of handling her child. Sure, Jaya, sure.
The next day, the household turns into a carnival as eunuchs arrive to celebrate Vayu’s arrival. There’s singing, dancing, and general merriment while Vaiju watches from afar, looking like she just lost the last shred of her soul. Ranvijay, in an attempt to win the “Most Awkward Comment of the Year” award, announces that the baby is blessed with two mothers, comparing the situation to Lord Krishna’s. Because nothing says “let’s solve this family mess” like a heavy-handed mythological reference. Vaiju, crushed by the weight of secrecy, silently retreats into her corner of despair, ending the episode with a close-up of her tear-streaked face. Classic.
Vaiju flips the script and gets Jaya arrested for Vayu’s death. Ranvijay, the perpetual peacekeeper, tells Vaiju it wasn’t Jaya’s fault and brings her back home. Vaiju, in peak dramatic fashion, declares she won’t stay in the house anymore. Cue the next wave of chaos.
