YRKKH 22nd February 2025 Written Update. Today in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai written update, the episode kicks off with Abhira playing detective and uncovering a shocking truth—RK’s mother is actually Armaan’s real mother. And because drama runs in their DNA, Armaan, the king of unnecessary stress, spots Abhira looking visibly shaken. He immediately starts panicking (as if that’s going to help) and asks why she looks so restless. Instead of just blurting it out, Abhira, in true dramatic fashion, hugs Armaan, leaving him even more confused. Meanwhile, RK, who was already having a tough day, asks the doctor to check Shivani, concerned about her panic attack. Just as RK thinks he has everything under control, Shivani wakes up, takes one good look at him, and declares, “You are NOT my son.” Talk about a punch to the gut. RK is left standing there, looking like someone just told him his entire life was a lie—which, to be fair, is exactly what happened.
On the other side of the chaos, Abhira, still on her mission to protect Armaan from more heartbreak, decides to hide the fact that Kaveri orchestrated this entire mess. She doesn’t want to see the Poddar family break apart (although, let’s be real, they do a fantastic job of tearing themselves apart without any external help). Instead of telling Armaan the full truth, she gives him a watered-down version, saying she discovered it while investigating Shivani’s past with him. Armaan, already emotionally fragile, is shattered to learn that his real mother was alive all this time while he was worshipping another woman as his mother. He spirals into guilt, regretting the rituals he performed for Shivani, believing her to be someone else. Someone get this man a therapist because the emotional whiplash is real.
While Armaan deals with his personal crisis, things aren’t looking great in the Goenka household either. Kiara and Abhir, the self-proclaimed power couple, arrive at the door only to be met with silence. Kiara, ever the optimist, tries to convince Abhir that family is forever, but Abhir, fed up with the drama, declares that no one will welcome them. Proving him wrong, Manish opens the door, but instead of a warm greeting, he delivers a fiery scolding, blaming Abhir for tarnishing the family’s reputation. It even looks like he’s about to slap Abhir, but Swarna, stepping into her occasional voice of reason role, intervenes just in time. Despite the tension, Surekha and Swarna begrudgingly invite Abhir and Kiara inside.
Meanwhile, Armaan, still in his emo phase, refuses to face Shivani. Abhira, who must be running on endless patience at this point, tries once again to convince him. She reminds him that Shivani has waited her whole life to meet him, but Armaan, in typical overdramatic fashion, refuses. If there were an award for unnecessarily prolonging the inevitable, Armaan would take home gold.
Back at the Poddar mansion, Kaveri is scheming like it’s her full-time job (which, at this point, it might as well be). She informs Vidya that Shivani has escaped from the retreat. Instead of showing any maternal concern, Vidya instantly panics at the thought of losing Madhav and Armaan. Kaveri, never one to miss an opportunity for manipulation, declares that they must ensure Shivani and Madhav never reunite. Because, of course, keeping a mother and son apart is totally normal behavior.
Despite his earlier reluctance, Armaan finally asks Abhira if she will take him to Shivani. The episode ends on this cliffhanger, teasing a long-overdue mother-son reunion. But because this is an Indian soap opera, we all know this won’t be a simple heartwarming moment.
Precap: Armaan finally meets Shivani and, in an unexpectedly mature move, thanks RK for all that he has done for him. But the drama train refuses to slow down because RK, now feeling insecure, demands that Armaan choose between Shivani and Abhira. Armaan, once again caught in an emotional tug-of-war, is left completely stunned.
YRKKH 22nd February 2025 Episode Review: Emotional, Intense, and a Little Too Much
This episode had everything—secrets, betrayals, emotional meltdowns, and a good dose of over-the-top reactions. The way Shivani just shut RK down with a single sentence was the kind of drama we live for. Poor RK spent his entire life believing he was her son, only to be hit with the ultimate reality check. His existential crisis was painful to watch, but at the same time, one couldn’t help but wonder if karma was at play.
Armaan’s emotional turmoil was another highlight. This man has the worst luck in life—first, his marriage is a mess, now he finds out his whole childhood was built on a lie. But instead of facing his problems head-on, he does what he does best: sulk. It’s a wonder how Abhira still has the patience to deal with him, but props to her for at least trying.
On the Goenka side of things, Manish needs to take a deep breath and maybe a long vacation. His aggression towards Abhir was unnecessary. If anyone needs an intervention, it’s him. And Kiara? She’s in her own world, excitedly declaring herself Mrs. Abhir Kiara Sharma while Abhir looks like he just realized he made the worst decision of his life. The man is stunned, and honestly, same.

Kaveri, on the other hand, continues to be the mastermind of misery. It’s actually impressive how much effort she puts into ruining lives. Someone give this woman a hobby. Vidya, instead of questioning any of this, immediately panics at the thought of losing her so-called perfect family. The irony? It’s their own actions that are tearing the family apart, not Shivani’s return.
Best Dialogue:
Shivani: “You are NOT my son.”
RK: [shocked silence]
This line was an absolute mic-drop moment. The way she shut him down with zero hesitation was savage.
Final Rating: 3.5/5
This episode had its moments, but some parts dragged unnecessarily. Armaan’s reluctance to face Shivani felt repetitive, and RK’s emotional breakdown, while justified, could have been handled with more depth rather than just rage and denial. The Goenka drama felt a bit forced, especially with Kiara’s excitement feeling completely out of place. But the Shivani-RK twist and the looming decision Armaan has to make? That’s what’s keeping us hooked.
Would we recommend watching? Yes—but maybe with a snack, because some of these scenes take way too long to get to the point.
