It all begins with Bhushan cornering Teju to swear off singing forever. Teju, visibly shaken, pushes back, reminding him that dreams aren’t meant to be silenced. She stands her ground, revealing that it was Amai and Nandini who encouraged her to sing in the first place. Teju’s frustration deepens when she points out the hypocrisy—Rituraj, also a singer, is praised, while she’s being punished.
But Bhushan drops a bomb: Rituraj doesn’t carry their family surname, so he’s not held to the same standards. Apparently, if he did carry their surname, he’d be either an engineer or doctor by now. Rituraj claps back, proudly owning his success and declaring that everything he’s achieved is on his own merit. He subtly points out that Teju’s passion stems from her father’s dream—and it’s something sacred.
Leena, ever sharp-tongued, jumps in to demean Mohit, Teju’s father, sparking another fire. Teju snaps. She defends her father fiercely, refusing to stay quiet while someone trashes his name. Back at Neil’s house, another round of drama unfolds. Leena questions Neil’s decision-making capabilities, but Neil stands tall and says he did what he believed was right. He even tells Teju she’s free to visit her family, though Leena insists she never stopped her.
Teju, still reeling from the emotional weight of it all, refuses to go. Amruta tries persuading her, warning that missing the ritual might bring bad luck. Jeetu joins in, and Teju, with tears streaming down, finally agrees.
She breaks down alone, books in hand, grieving her father’s absence. Neil enters, trying to comfort her. Teju pours her heart out—she feels suffocated, lost, and tired of being treated like a puppet. Neil apologizes on behalf of his mother, promises to talk to Uncle, and assures her she doesn’t have to sacrifice her passion.
Teju opens up about the burden she carries. Her father was her pillar, and now that he’s gone, she feels alone amidst the crowd. Neil offers her a moment of comfort—water, a handkerchief, and some gentle advice. “Doctors go back to the basics when things go wrong,” he says. “Maybe you should, too.” Teju finally softens and agrees to visit her family, not for herself, but for Neil’s sake. “I don’t know what my future holds,” she says, “but at least my brother’s future is secure now.”
Neil teases her gently—“You don’t even like me, so why care?” Teju throws him a half-smile and says, “Stop using logic on me,” before walking away.
The next morning unfolds with predictable tension. Prachi welcomes Teju home. Rituraj compliments her, but Leena, again, can’t help herself—accusing Teju of playing games and pretending to listen to Neil when she never considered him a real husband.
Rituraj then turns the mirror on Neil, suggesting that all this mess might’ve been avoided if Neil had just taken time to understand Teju’s dreams before marrying her. Neil takes the blow gracefully and admits his mistake, adding, “I’ll apologize to Teju for the rest of my life if I have to.”
