Today in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai written update, Abhira, our resident silent chef and emotion-suppressor, bakes a cake like it’s a covert mission. She hides it as if it’s state-level confidential and mutters to herself that she can’t afford mistakes—because apparently, baking now equals emotional landmines.
Next morning, chaos takes a domestic turn. Vidya is hunting for a cooker whistle like it’s a missing heirloom, while Abhira plays cake ninja again, shoving it out of sight. But Vidya’s detective mode doesn’t stop there—she eyes Abhira’s under-eye cream and throws shade like a pro. “That cream won’t help,” she scoffs, “because you’re living in darkness.” Ma’am, this is skincare, not a therapy session.
Enter Kaveri, ready for her own round of drama. She snaps at Vidya for touching her water bucket. Yes, you heard that right. We’ve moved from family trauma to bucket politics. The argument is as petty as it is passionate, and honestly, if words could splash, everyone would be drenched.
In a surprising twist of goodwill, Abhira volunteers to fetch water with Kaveri. Look at her trying to be the peacekeeper while barely holding her own emotional floodgates shut.
Meanwhile, back at the shrine of denial, Vidya is praying hard for Armaan’s return and vows to fast for him. She begs the gods for answers and asks that if he can’t come back, at least let him be happy. Ma’am, it’s been seven years. Even the gods might’ve changed their number by now.
Abhira and Kaveri return to find the door locked like some metaphor for all their unresolved issues. Inside, Vidya is seen hiding Armaan’s photo—because hiding things is clearly today’s theme. But Abhira gets a rude shock when she discovers the picture. Plot twist incoming.
Kaveri lays down the law: no Armaan talk. But Vidya’s not having it. She unleashes her emotional TED Talk, reminding everyone that Armaan is still her son, no matter what. Kaveri snaps back, pointing out that Armaan ditched everyone, including his wife. No calls, no postcards, not even a lazy WhatsApp message in seven years.
But it doesn’t stop there—Vidya spills Abhira’s secrets too. She reveals Abhira’s been baking cakes and buying gifts for “Pookie.” So much for stealth mode, Abhira. Turns out even under-eye cream can’t hide birthday heartbreaks.
Kaveri takes the middle ground, accusing both women of being stuck in the past. Vidya claps back, saying Kaveri’s no different. Everyone’s got emotional baggage here—they just wrap it in different wrapping paper.
As Abhira thinks about her lost daughter Pookie, we’re transported to Mount Abu. There, Pookie and her grandfather are seen selling umbrellas in a park, looking like sunshine in a storm.
