Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 29th July 2025 Written Update: The Tug-of-War, Myra in the Middle, Armaan in a Pickle, and Abhira on the Edge
This episode feels like one long custody battle, served with a side of unresolved trauma, passive-aggressive parenting, and emotional manipulation. But hey, it’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai—they never promised us a smooth ride, did they?
Armaan’s Eternal Dilemma: Should I Call or Crawl into a Hole?
Armaan is missing Myra and battling with his own thoughts. He thinks about calling her (classic Armaan, always thinking, never doing). But then he stops himself because he believes Myra should “adjust” with Abhira. Yes, because forcing a confused child to adjust during an emotional storm always works wonders.
Instead of acting like an actual father or a responsible adult, he just decides to stay out of it. “Let the women fight it out,” he probably thinks, while sipping guilt like cold coffee.
Kaveri and Vidya: Guilt Olympics Begins
Meanwhile, back at the house of regrets, Kaveri and Vidya are having their own little blame game. Kaveri regrets stopping Armaan from telling Abhira the truth, and Vidya, the walking voice of reason, wants to know why she did it in the first place.
Before Kaveri can deliver her excuse (likely something along the lines of “It felt right at the time”), Abhira shows up with Myra—looking like a mom trying really hard to not punch a few elders out of frustration.
Abhira shuts down their “pity party” with grace and sass. She tells them she’s not interested in their chat and is only there for Myra—because at least someone in this show remembers what the child is going through.
She tells them Myra has already been distant from her family long enough, and it’s time the kid gets her grandmother’s love. She then sweetly tells Myra to rest, while mentally preparing for a war with fate, in-laws, and possibly her own self-esteem.
Geetanjali Gets Poetic While Armaan Tries to Be Practical
Geetanjali, who lives and breathes in metaphors, asks Armaan if he has packed everything and then drops the emotional nuke—“Pack my heart too, I’m lifeless without Myra.” Armaan, stuck between two motherly figures and one ex-wife, tries to take the sensible route: “Separating Abhira and Myra is wrong.”
But Geetanjali replies with a line worthy of a soap opera award: “In love, there’s no right or wrong.” Well then, ma’am, maybe there’s also no logic or boundaries either?
Myra’s Pajama Problems and Emotional Throwbacks
In one of the most gut-punch moments, Abhira sets up a cozy sleeping space for Myra and checks her comfort. But Myra, still emotionally tethered to Armaan, casually mentions that her comfy nightdress is with him. Ouch. Abhira is stunned, but like the queen she is, she decides she’ll stitch new clothes for Myra herself. Sewing through sadness, now that’s peak Indian mom energy.
Vidya, watching all this emotional chaos, gently reminds Abhira to give Myra some time. But Abhira’s heartbreak spills out: “If I were a good mother, Armaan wouldn’t have left me. He wouldn’t have married Geetanjali.”
Vidya hugs her, possibly feeling all kinds of guilt for raising a man like Armaan.
Dadu’s Emotional Manipulation, 101
Dadu drops in for a chat with Armaan. It starts sweet but quickly swerves into guilt-tripping territory. He agrees that Abhira is in pain, but throws a curveball by saying no one will ever understand Geetanjali’s pain. Um, sorry, but can someone remind Dadu that Geetanjali is not the only person hurting here?
He makes Armaan promise to never leave Geetanjali alone. And of course, Armaan agrees—because if there’s anything this man excels at, it’s making promises he’ll later regret.
The Kid Just Wants Her Dad—Is That Too Much to Ask?
Abhira, trying to be civil, sends water to Anshuman and even thanks him for helping her find Pookie (aka Myra). But Myra is miserable and clearly missing Armaan. She asks Abhira to call him. When Armaan answers, he asks her to stay with Abhira. But Myra pleads, “Come and take me back.”
It’s heartbreaking, because all this child wants is some stability. But what she’s getting is emotional hot potato.
Geetanjali, Again.
Not ready to be benched, Geetanjali swoops in like a hawk. She tells Myra to come back home. But this time, Armaan surprises us by hanging up on her. He tells her bluntly to stop interfering between Abhira and Myra. Finally, a moment of clarity.
But Geetanjali hits back with, “Myra won’t be happy with Abhira.” Armaan responds, “She will adjust.”
Let’s hope he’s right—for everyone’s sanity.
Precap
Abhira, tired and emotionally depleted, tells Armaan to take Myra back if that’s what she wants. Armaan, still trying to play peacemaker, requests her to give the child some time. Abhira tries to bond with Myra by feeding her, but the little one can’t stop talking about her dad.
Basically, Abhira’s trying, Myra’s crying, and Armaan’s sighing.
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 29th July 2025 Written Update Review: A Showdown of Emotions, Poor Parenting, and Deeply Rooted Guilt
This episode is a tangled web of emotions, but also a testament to how emotionally exhausting this storyline has become. The show is attempting to show trauma, guilt, and parental struggle—but somewhere along the way, they’ve made Myra a silent victim of adult incompetence.:
- Armaan needs to be renamed “Mr. Fence-Sitter.” He keeps bouncing between women like a confused shuttlecock.
- Geetanjali should open a school for passive-aggressive guilt trips. Admissions open year-round.
- Kaveri, who once ruled the house, now spends more time regretting things than actually fixing them.
- Poor Abhira is out here trying to bond with her daughter while fighting off the emotional ghosts of the past, present, and future.
But amidst all the chaos, the episode delivers strong emotional beats—especially with Abhira’s heartbreak and Myra’s longing. The writing may be dragging at times, but the performances are holding it together.
Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
For the drama, for Abhira’s strength, and for Myra’s silent pleas that tug at the heart—even if the storyline needs to move forward already.
