Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 28th September 2025 Written Update: Ghosts, Gulmohars, and Growing Closeness. The episode begins with Kaveri carrying her usual regal aura but softening a little as she addresses the question of Abhira’s participation in the competition. She admits that if it hadn’t been for Myra’s insistence, she would never have asked Abhira to take part. There’s something warming about seeing the icy Kaveri thaw for once. Myra, with her calm confidence, assures Kaveri that Abhira must participate and shine. That gentle push from Myra feels like the voice of reason in a family that often flips between drama and melodrama at the speed of a cricket match commentary.
Kaveri then turns her attention to Abhira and notices her tired face. “Didn’t you sleep last night?” she asks. Abhira sighs and admits she had to endure a lot of drama the previous night. (Let’s be real: in this household, drama is more abundant than chai.) For once, Kaveri drops her usual sternness and speaks with sincerity. She tells Abhira that she can confide in her whenever she feels low. She confesses that she failed as a mother to Kajal, and that truth hangs heavy in the air. But she’s determined to try again, this time with Abhira. She adds that she knows she can’t replace Akshara—nobody can—but she can stand beside Abhira as support.
It’s a rare and touching moment. Abhira, who often fights her battles alone, thanks Kaveri with genuine warmth. For a few seconds, the show actually delivers something emotional without dramatic background beats.
And then Sundar barges in—because subtlety clearly isn’t his thing. He interrupts the heartfelt exchange to submit the competition form. Abhira, instead of being annoyed, gives him permission to skip the queue. But Sundar, in his own quirky way, replies that he doesn’t need a queue to get his way. The organizer, though, isn’t impressed. He catches Sundar’s mistake—he has written the wrong name on the form. Sundar shrugs, blaming his past troubles at work. Abhira teases him, asking if it was “kicked out” or “fired.” (Honestly, only Abhira can roast someone with a straight face like that.) To end the comedy segment, Abhira submits her own form with determination, setting the stage for her participation.
Elsewhere, Kajal corners Manisha, asking whether she has spoken with Kiara. Manisha hesitates, ready to share the truth, but Tanya swoops in like a hyper fitness influencer who just discovered Instagram reels. She begins ranting about gyms, diets, and her new professional trainer. Manisha, with all the maturity in the room, warns her against over-exercising. Tanya, though, is convinced that for weight loss she must sacrifice everything except her selfie angle. It’s a filler track, but it adds that comic-relatable layer of family discussions shifting from ghosts to dumbbells in seconds.
Meanwhile, Armaan decides to stroll around the resort, but his peaceful exploration is cut short when Geetanjali appears. Their conversation lingers in the background while the main focus shifts to Abhira and Myra. Abhira notices that Myra is unwell, shivering with fever. Shocked, she asks why Myra hid it. Myra, selflessly, explains that she didn’t want to trouble Abhira when the competition was more important. Abhira’s emotional side kicks in. She insists nothing—not even this competition—matters more than Myra’s health. But Myra urges her to focus on the event. Caught in this dilemma, Abhira wonders who will care for Myra if she leaves. Cue knight-in-shining-kurta, Armaan, who steps in and assures her he will look after Myra. It’s a simple gesture, but it lays another brick in the slow-building Armaan–Abhira connection.
Just when you think things are settling, the resort guests break the peace with shrieks of terror. They claim they’ve spotted a ghost roaming the premises. Abhira frowns, skeptical but still worried. Geetanjali adds fuel to the fire by claiming she saw blood in the water. To emphasize her fear, she clings to Armaan like a character from a low-budget horror film. Abhira, being the practical one, decides to inspect the room herself.
Kaveri, surprisingly adventurous, joins the investigation. Myra tags along despite her fever. During their search, they bump into an old housekeeper who dramatically declares that the lady ghost has returned and won’t spare anyone. (At this point, even Scooby-Doo would have solved the case faster, but hey, Indian serials need their weekly spooky arc.)
Determined to find the truth, Abhira sets her sights on the water tank. She wants to know why the water turned red. Armaan, loyal sidekick mode activated, offers to help. But fate—or perhaps the scriptwriter’s love for forced proximity—locks the two inside a bathroom. Armaan tries to fix a pipe but ends up breaking it instead. Water gushes everywhere, drenching both him and Abhira. The scene, of course, is shot in slow motion with the obligatory romantic track in the background. It’s equal parts clumsy and charming, giving fans the Abhira–Armaan moment they’ve been waiting for.
And just like that, the episode closes with them soaked to the bone, their eyes doing all the talking.
Precap
The precap promises more steam—literally and figuratively. Abhira and Armaan grow closer, coziness sneaks in, and Armaan even whispers her name with all the weight of hidden feelings. Love seems to be tiptoeing its way in, ghost stories be damned.
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 28th September 2025 Review
This episode felt like it belonged to two different genres clashing at the same time—part family drama, part horror-comedy, with a sprinkle of rom-com on top. It’s like the writers couldn’t decide if they wanted to scare the audience, make them laugh, or make them blush—so they just tossed everything into the pot. Surprisingly, it worked better than expected.
Kaveri’s soft corner for Abhira was the highlight. For too long, she’s been portrayed as this cold matriarch who snaps at everyone. Seeing her acknowledge her failures and offer to stand as a mother figure for Abhira added depth to her character. It wasn’t melodramatic—it was heartfelt. That scene is what anchored the entire episode emotionally.
Sundar’s comedy was… Sundar. He’s like that side character who somehow keeps the narrative grounded with his nonsense. His “fired vs kicked out” banter with Abhira provided a much-needed breather.
The Tanya–gym track, though, felt like filler. It was clearly written to give Manisha something to do while pushing Kajal’s curiosity about Kiara further down the line. Still, it did add a slice-of-life vibe, because every family has that one member obsessed with diets and trainers.
The horror angle—ghosts, red water, creepy housekeepers—was campy but fun. It’s obvious the show isn’t trying to become The Conjuring. It’s all just setup for throwing Abhira and Armaan into the same frame. And that bathroom lock-in scene? Classic soap trope, but undeniably entertaining. Fans of the couple will replay that drenched moment on loop.
Armaan’s role stood out subtly. He’s the silent protector—caring for Myra, supporting Abhira, and ending up in hilarious predicaments with her. The precap hints at his growing emotional vulnerability, and if done right, this track could finally shift him from background hero to front-burner lover boy.
Overall, the episode gave us drama, laughs, scares, and romance in one go. It may not be groundbreaking, but it was enjoyable. And if you’re watching purely for Abhira–Armaan, the payoff was worth the wait.
Final Verdict: A rollercoaster of ghosts, gym talks, drenched duos, and tender confessions. Kaveri wins the “scene of the day” medal, Sundar grabs the “comic relief” trophy, and Abhira–Armaan steal the “chemistry award.”
