Jhanak 27th January 2026 Written Update: Rishi Drops a Divorce Bomb, Chooses Jhanak as the House Erupts
The episode opens with the police inspector briefing Rishi’s family, confirming that Rishi was saved just in time before Ankush could kill him. The statement sends a wave of shock and relief across the room. Tanushri immediately rushes to Rishi, asking if he is fine. Putul, equally concerned, asks about Jhanak’s condition, only to be sharply scolded by Neelu for worrying about the “wrong person.” The lines are drawn instantly. Concern for Jhanak is already being treated like a crime.
Aditi, visibly shaken, also asks Rishi if he is alright. Rishi assures everyone that he is safe, but his words carry weight when he admits that he thought he would never see them again. He clearly states that it was Jhanak who saved his life. This does not sit well with several members of the family. Dritimaan asks the police inspector to explain what exactly happened. Rishi intervenes and says the police arrived later, which means only he and Jhanak truly know the entire truth.
Sanjhbati questions why Jhanak stayed silent if she knew everything from the beginning. The suspicion around Jhanak thickens. He exposes Ankush as the mastermind behind the entire horror. Rishi explains how Ankush wanted revenge on Indranath and used both him and Jhanak as pawns. Ankush kidnapped them, threatened Jhanak, and forced her to kill Indranath by giving him wrong medicine. A stunned silence follows. Rishi clarifies that Jhanak never went through with it. She refused to kill Indranath. Ankush then placed his men to keep a constant watch on Jhanak, which is why she could not tell anyone the truth.

Rishi continues, explaining that Ankush tried to kill him as punishment for Jhanak’s disobedience. He credits Jhanak’s intelligence for saving his life, revealing how she secretly slipped a letter into the DIG’s pocket, which led the police to reach Indranath’s house on time. He makes it clear, in no uncertain terms, that Jhanak did not try to kill him. She saved him.
The truth finally stands exposed.
Jhanak then speaks. She says she has decided not to stay in this house. She asks Rishi to stay happy with Aditi and walks away emotionally. The police inspector states that Rishi’s statement is recorded and informs him to resume duty from the next day before leaving.
And then comes the explosion no one saw coming.
Rishi announces that he cannot leave Jhanak. He openly declares that Aditi does not trust him and tries to control his life. He states bluntly that there is no love left in his marriage with Aditi and that he wants a divorce. He adds that it would be better if it is mutual. Then, without hesitation, Rishi declares that he wants to marry Jhanak after divorcing Aditi.
The house freezes.
Aditi breaks down in tears. Rishi remains firm, saying this is his final decision. He tells his family to decide whether Jhanak will be allowed to stay in the house. Elsewhere, Tanushri vents her anger to Abhimanyu. She says marriage is not a joke and Rishi treated it lightly. Abhimanyu admits Rishi was serious but is equally disturbed. This episode of Jhanak is explosive, emotionally heavy, and morally complicated. The truth about Ankush finally clears Jhanak’s name, but instead of relief, it triggers an even bigger storm. Rishi’s confession is brave, impulsive, and devastating all at once.
Jhanak emerges as the quiet hero of this story. She saves lives, sacrifices her reputation, and still chooses to walk away rather than demand acceptance. Her dignity stands in sharp contrast to the chaos around her.
Rishi, however, is the most polarizing character here. His honesty is commendable, but the timing and manner of his divorce announcement are brutal. Aditi becomes the collateral damage in a love story she never consented to lose.
The family’s reactions feel painfully real. Support, blame, manipulation, and fear collide, making the emotional atmosphere suffocating. The upcoming track promises intense confrontations, broken relationships, and impossible choices.
This episode does not offer comfort. It offers truth. And sometimes, truth hurts more than lies.
