Dadabhai responds with calm practicality. He says that promises are meaningful, but if they begin to suffocate life itself, then breaking them may be the only way to breathe again. He reminds everyone that Rishi and Jhanak also made promises to each other during their marriage, whether forced or not. Abhimanyu refuses to agree. He says they are practical people, not dreamers, and the reality is that Rishi and Jhanak’s marriage was forced.
