Mangal Lakshmi 5th March 2026 Written Update: Adit Returns After 5 Years, Kusum Slaps Him During Emotional Holi Confrontation

Today’s episode begins with Mangal confronting Adit about the truth he has been hiding from his family. With pain in her voice, she asks him what she is supposed to tell his mother now. Mangal explains that Kusum recently learned about the accident that happened five years ago and believes that her son died in that incident. Since then, Kusum has been crying endlessly for him.

Mangal tells Adit that he never cared about his family’s emotions. She bitterly says that if running away from responsibilities is the only thing he knows how to do, then he should run away again. According to her, the family no longer needs someone who abandoned them during their toughest time. With those harsh words, Mangal leaves the place.

At home, Kusum sits in tears, unable to accept the reality of her son’s death. She tells the family that she does not know how to celebrate Holi anymore. The family members try to comfort her and bring her outside for the Holika Dahan ritual.

Sudesh gently explains that Adit died five years ago and they cannot keep living in grief forever. He says they must stay strong for their grandchildren and continue their lives. Kusum struggles to control her emotions while the family gathers around the Holika fire.

Meanwhile, Mangal arrives and watches the scene silently. She is deeply troubled because she knows Adit is alive, yet she does not know how to reveal the truth to Kusum.

The family begins performing the Holika Dahan ritual, taking rounds around the sacred fire. Suddenly, Kusum freezes as she sees someone standing nearby. Her eyes widen in disbelief.

It is Adit.

Kusum calls out his name in shock. Everyone turns around and sees him standing there. For a moment, nobody can believe what they are seeing.

Kusum runs toward him and touches his face, trying to confirm that he is real. Overwhelmed with emotion, she hugs him tightly and begins crying. She repeatedly says that her son is alive and safe.

The family stands stunned by the unexpected reunion.

Kusum asks Adit what actually happened during the accident five years ago. Adit calmly replies that he did meet with an accident, but he survived. Kusum then asks the painful question that has been haunting her heart for years—why did he never return home during those five years?

Adit’s answer shocks everyone.

He says he did not want to come back as a loser. According to him, everyone in the family always praises Mangal and considers her perfect, while he is treated as useless. He claims he left the house on his own and did not want to return in defeat.

Hearing this selfish explanation, Kusum loses her patience.

She slaps Adit hard across the face.

Kusum angrily tells him that he has no idea how much Mangal sacrificed for the family during his absence. She calls him irresponsible and declares that he has become the worst kind of person. Kusum says she feels ashamed that her upbringing produced someone who abandoned his responsibilities so easily.

She then turns to Mangal and apologizes for misunderstanding her all these years. Kusum says that while Mangal worked day and night to support the family, Adit stayed away because he could not tolerate Mangal being respected by everyone.

Kusum openly mocks Adit’s ego and leaves the place in disappointment. The rest of the family members follow her inside, leaving Adit standing alone.

Ishana runs toward Adit and hugs him emotionally. She tells him how much she missed him and thanks God for bringing him back safely. Adit softens slightly and tells her that she is the only one who truly missed him.

Ishana insists that everyone in the family missed him, especially their grandmother who was deeply hurt by his disappearance. Adit assures her that he will fix everything. He says tomorrow is Holi and hopes that the festival will bring happiness back to their family.

The next morning, the family prepares to celebrate Holi. Mangal approaches Kusum and tries to apply color to her forehead as a respectful tika.

However, Kusum refuses. She says her son betrayed her trust, and because of that she no longer believes in the happiness associated with colors.

Sudesh tries to convince her. He reminds Kusum that Mangal is no longer just her daughter-in-law but also her daughter. He asks Kusum to accept the tika as a symbol of love and forgiveness.

After a moment of hesitation, Kusum finally agrees. Mangal gently applies the tika on her forehead, marking a quiet moment of emotional healing.

Meanwhile, Ishana is talking to Aarav on the phone. She excitedly asks him to come soon because she wants him to apply Holi color on her first. She happily tells him that she loves him. Aarav responds with the same words but his expression turns sly.

After ending the call, Aarav opens a beer and drinks it with a smirk, revealing a suspicious side to his character.

Shubhi overhears Ishana’s conversation and rushes downstairs to inform Mangal about it. But before she can speak, Adit stops her.

Adit announces that today is Holi and they should celebrate together as a new beginning for the family. He tries to apply color to Kusum’s face as a sign of reconciliation.

Kusum immediately stops him.

She tells him that he has already shown his true colors and she does not need any more colors from him.

The tension rises again.

Adit turns toward Mangal and angrily blames her for turning the entire family against him. He claims she deliberately made him look like a villain in everyone’s eyes.

Adit then tells his parents that if his presence is making them uncomfortable, he will leave the house again.

Kusum remains silent, unable to respond.

The episode ends with the family standing in emotional confusion as Adit’s return continues to create deeper cracks in their relationships.

In the precap, Lakshmi desperately tries to stop Aarav and Ishana’s wedding, but she fails. To everyone’s shock, Ishana and Aarav get married.
