Anupama 16th July 2026 Written Update: Prem Mocks Anupama as the Cooking Battle Begins
Today’s episode begins with the host introducing the panel of judges for the cooking competition. He first welcomes renowned chef Manpreet Singh onto the stage. Leela misunderstands the introduction and innocently asks Hasmuk whether Manpreet literally serves food all over the world because the host said she has delivered Indian cuisine globally. Hasmuk smiles and explains that the host meant Manpreet has promoted Indian food internationally.
Vasundhara quietly tells Anil that Manpreet looks extremely strict and will probably find faults even with an empty plate. Anil agrees, saying he has watched her cooking shows and knows she is a tough judge.
Prem becomes serious after hearing Manpreet’s name. He tells Shruti that they cannot afford even a single mistake in front of such a strict judge. Meanwhile, Anupama believes strict judges are always the best because they focus only on talent instead of emotions.
The host then introduces the second judge, Roy. Digvijay happily tells Anupama that he knows Roy personally. Hearing this, Ishani gets excited and assumes Digvijay’s connection might benefit their team. However, Digvijay quickly clarifies that Roy is a complete professional who never shows favoritism.
Shruti informs Prem’s team that Digvijay already knows one of the judges. Rahi remains confident and says it will not make any difference because judges always score dishes based on taste.
Next, the host welcomes the third judge, Sikander. Anupama tells her teammates that every judge brings valuable experience and they should focus on learning from them throughout the competition. Meanwhile, Prem quietly begins planning how to impress Sikander.
As the competition officially begins, the host introduces all four participating teams. Both Prem’s and Anupama’s teams cheer enthusiastically.
The host remarks that viewers have often seen mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law fighting in the kitchen, but this is perhaps the first time a mother-in-law and son-in-law are competing against each other on such a grand stage.
He asks Prem what he hopes to prove through this competition.
Prem confidently replies that he has come only to win. His attitude impresses Manpreet, while Sikander smiles and remarks that overconfidence can burn rotis just as easily as carelessness, suggesting everyone should wait for the real competition.
The host then turns to Anupama and asks about her motivation.
Anupama calmly says that Prem and Rahi wanted this challenge, and she has happily accepted it. She declares that she is also here to win because victory will help her fulfill her dream of building a house of her own.
Manpreet immediately criticizes Anupama, saying reality shows are not the place to narrate emotional stories.
Roy disagrees with her and points out that it is unfair to judge a contestant’s intentions before even tasting the food. Sikander also supports Anupama’s right to express her motivation.
The host then announces the opening challenge, called the Abara Ka Dabara Round.
According to the rules, every team must prepare a dish assigned by the judges. Two members from each team will first collect the required ingredients from the pantry, but they are not allowed to discuss the assigned dish with their team leaders.
Anupama chooses Kinjal and Prerna to collect the ingredients.
On the other side, Rahi suggests that she and Khyati should go to the pantry. Prem immediately stops her and says she should not make decisions while he is leading the team. Refusing to take any risks, Prem sends Shruti with Rahi instead, leaving Khyati disappointed.
Finally, the judges assign different international dishes to each team.
Anupama’s team receives an Italian recipe. While reading its name, she struggles to pronounce Rosette correctly.
Prem takes the opportunity to mock Anupama. He sarcastically remarks that if she cannot even pronounce the name of the dish, preparing it successfully will be impossible.
The episode ends.
