Anupama 17th August 2026 Written Update: Rahi Fails Lie Detector Test, Digvijay Calls Anupama His Guardian Angel
Today’s episode of Anupama focuses heavily on the lie detector round, which turns the ongoing competition into an emotional test for Anupama, Rahi, Prem and Digvijay. As the organizers begin asking deeply personal questions, hidden feelings come to the surface. Rahi finds herself caught between her love for Prem and her bond with Anupama, while Digvijay gives an emotional explanation for standing by Anupama.
The episode begins with Leela telling Hasmuk that the organizers seem determined to dig into the family’s personal secrets. She feels that the competition has now gone beyond ordinary tasks. Hasmuk agrees and says that Rahi is trapped because the next questions could expose her true feelings.
Paritosh and Pakhi also discuss Rahi’s situation. Ishani tells Prerna that she hopes Rahi does not get hurt because of the questions. Everyone is aware that the lie detector round could create another major conflict between the Shahs and the Kotharis.
Rahi faces a difficult question about Anupama and Prem
The organizer asks Rahi whether she would be happy if Anupama lost the competition and Prem won.
Khyati immediately objects to the nature of the question. She feels that the organizers are asking extremely personal questions instead of focusing only on the competition.

Digvijay feels bad for her. Anupama, however, understands Rahi completely. She says that Rahi does not hate her enough to celebrate her defeat. Rahi is simply playing for Prem and lying to protect him, yet Prem continues to remain angry with her.
Gautam tells Shruti that she should now understand what he had been trying to explain about Rahi.
Kinjal also discusses the situation with Khyati. Khyati says that no one understands a woman’s emotions better than another woman.
Digvijay is questioned about his relationship with Anupama
The organizer then turns his attention towards Digvijay.
He asks why Digvijay is constantly supporting Anupama. He questions whether Digvijay is doing it because he wants his café or whether he expects a share of the prize money.
Leela becomes worried that Digvijay’s truth could finally come out.
Hasmuk immediately supports Digvijay.
Shruti, on the other hand, says that someone is finally asking Digvijay the questions that everyone wants answered.
The organizer continues questioning him. He asks Digvijay what benefit he gets from staying around Anupama and whether there is some personal reason behind his support.
Digvijay gives an emotional answer.
He says that before meeting Anupama, he was simply living without any real purpose. After meeting her, she gave him a reason to live and helped him see life differently.
Digvijay calls Anupama his guardian angel.
He clarifies that he does not have any hidden personal reason for supporting her. He simply adores her as a friend and respects her deeply. Digvijay then says that he wants to remain with Anupama until his last breath.
His heartfelt answer earns him the point.
Shruti calls his explanation nonsense. Paritosh also starts doubting the machine because Digvijay receives the point.
Prem refuses to accept Anupama as his competition
The organizer then questions Prem.
He asks Prem whether he considers Anupama a better chef than him and whether she deserves to win the competition.
Prem confidently says that he does not even consider Anupama his competition. He insists that only he deserves the trophy.
The lie detector catches his answer, and Prem loses the point.
Prem immediately claims that the machine is lying.

Anupama finally intervenes and asks everyone to stop fighting.
She reminds them that a competition should not destroy their relationships.
The episode ends with tensions still running high as the lie detector round continues exposing the emotional cracks within both families.

Anupama is shocked to learn that someone has already paid the down payment for her land.
Vasundhara then reveals that she is the one who paid the amount. However, she has a condition for Anupama.
Vasundhara asks Anupama to sacrifice the competition trophy for Prem in return.
Anupama is left stunned by Vasundhara’s shocking offer.
Our Take
This episode is one of the stronger entries in the ongoing competition track because the lie detector round finally forces the characters to confront emotions they have been avoiding.
Rahi’s failed answer is the biggest emotional highlight. She tries to protect Prem, but the machine exposes the fact that she cannot genuinely celebrate her mother’s defeat. Her struggle shows that she is still caught between two relationships, and Anupama’s decision not to blame her makes the mother-daughter bond even more touching.
Digvijay’s confession is another standout moment. Calling Anupama his guardian angel gives a deeper explanation for his loyalty towards her. His answer also makes it clear that his support comes from genuine gratitude and friendship rather than any financial motive.
Prem, however, continues to let his anger control him. His refusal to even acknowledge Anupama as a worthy competitor shows how much bitterness has entered their relationship. The lie detector catching his answer makes the situation even more interesting.
The biggest development, however, comes in the precap. Vasundhara offering to pay for Anupama’s dream house in exchange for the trophy creates a very difficult choice. Anupama has always wanted a home where she can finally have her own space and authority, but accepting Vasundhara’s deal would mean compromising the very principles she has fought for.
