Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 18th August 2026 Written Update: Armaan and Abhira’s Romance Hits a Roadblock as Myra Rejects Kabir
The latest episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai brings a mix of family tension, lingering resentment and an emotional twist in Armaan and Abhira’s relationship. While Kabir has finally been found, the conflict between the Poddars and Damanis is far from over. Armaan remains furious with Samar for blaming Myra, while Abhira tries to convince everyone to move forward.
At the same time, Abhira becomes increasingly disappointed when Armaan fails to notice her efforts to bring some romance back into their relationship. What begins as a discussion about their “special day” soon turns into a new mission for Abhira—to bring back the spark in her marriage.
Samar Thanks the Inspector for Finding Kabir
The episode begins with Samar thanking the inspector for finding Kabir.
Armaan, however, is in no mood to sympathize with Kabir. He points out that Kabir was not actually kidnapped or missing because of someone else’s actions. According to him, Kabir was careless and created the situation himself.
Samar immediately asks Armaan not to say anything against Kabir.
He warns Armaan that his words could create further trouble.
Armaan refuses to back down. He tells Samar that perhaps he should have taught Kabir better manners and responsibility.
Armaan further points out that because of Kabir’s actions, Myra has gone through an extremely difficult two days.
Samar responds by making another provocative remark about Myra, saying that she is already familiar with visiting the police station.
Armaan loses his temper upon hearing this.
The tension between the two men continues to rise, making it clear that the rivalry between the Poddars and Damanis is nowhere close to ending.
Nandani and Raghu Apologize to Abhira
Meanwhile, Nandani and Raghu apologize to Abhira.
Nandani admits that they were unaware of the circumstances surrounding Myra and had misunderstood the situation.
Abhira tells them that Armaan will be happy to know that they have apologized.
However, Raghu clarifies that their apology is not intended to please Armaan.

Abhira Wants Armaan to Celebrate Their Special Day
Amid all the family drama, Abhira tries to shift Armaan’s attention towards something happier.
She tells him that Nandani and Raghu have apologized and asks him to focus on celebrating their special day.
Armaan becomes confused.
He asks Abhira what special day she is talking about.
Abhira is surprised that he does not immediately understand.
She tells him not to fool her because she knows that he cannot possibly have forgotten their special day.
Armaan, however, genuinely appears confused.

She had clearly been hoping that Armaan would remember the occasion on his own.
Myra Receives a Call From Kabir
Meanwhile, Myra learns that Kabir has called.
Mukti asks her whether she wants to speak to him.
Kabir then asks Myra to meet him.
Mukti again asks Myra if she wants to go and meet Kabir.
Myra, however, remembers Armaan’s instructions.
He had specifically asked her not to meet Kabir.
Despite her curiosity and concern, Myra decides to respect Armaan’s wishes.
She chooses not to meet him.
This shows how deeply the recent events have affected Myra and how much she is trying to follow her family’s instructions.
Armaan and Kabir Compete in the Garden
Later, Armaan unexpectedly bumps into Kabir in the garden.

Meanwhile, Kabir finishes his work at the office.
He then takes help from Nandani and Samar to leave the house.
Kabir eventually meets Myra at the temple.
He offers her coffee and tries to talk to her.
Myra, however, remembers the ongoing rivalry between the Poddars and the Damanis.
She knows that Armaan has asked her to stay away from Kabir.
As a result, she refuses to go with him.
Kabir’s attempt to reconnect with Myra therefore does not go as planned.
Myra remains caught between her own feelings and her family’s concerns.
Abhira Wonders If Romance Is Fading
Elsewhere, Abhira opens up to Manisha and Kajal.
She tells them that Armaan did not even notice her new hairstyle and dress.
The two women then give her some unexpected advice.
They tell Abhira that romance can fade with time.
Their words leave Abhira thinking.
She does not want to accept that romance between her and Armaan has to disappear simply because they have been married for some time.
Instead, she decides that she will make an effort to bring the spark back herself.
The episode ends with Abhira determined to revive the romance in her relationship with Armaan.

This episode balances the ongoing Poddar-Damani conflict with a lighter and more personal storyline involving Armaan and Abhira.
The family rivalry remains intense, especially after Samar brings up Myra’s past once again. Armaan’s anger is understandable because he feels that Myra has already suffered enough and does not want anyone humiliating her further.
The more interesting development, however, is Abhira’s frustration with Armaan.
She is not asking for anything extraordinary. She simply wants him to notice her, remember their special moments and make some effort in their relationship. His failure to notice her new look clearly hurts her.
Instead of becoming bitter, Abhira decides to take matters into her own hands.
Her plan to organize a date for Armaan could bring some much-needed romance and warmth to the storyline after all the heavy family drama.
At the same time, Myra’s decision to reject Kabir despite his attempt to meet her shows that she is still deeply affected by the conflict between the two families.
